These are much less messy than paint but don’t really give the painting experience, might as well just be using crayons really.

Fuss free painting
I've tried a well known brand of these previously but I actually prefer these paint sticks to the better known brand. They ard good solid colours and work really well on lots of different art and craft activities. Will purchase a bigger pack next time as they are good value for money
