Excellent Quality and Craftsmanship. Very complicated and risky to install for amateurs.
I replaced the knob on an X6. It was extremely complicated, but it didn't take long to install the lever. I changed the gear lever in its place where it is installed and the space to maneuver is very little. Putting it on and taking it off was not the biggest problem, but rather the flex cable, which is extremely delicate and short and was what caused me to check the installation three times because the cable was not in its place correctly. In the end, it works, but the risk of damaging the board is there. Really, if you want this product, bring it to a professional for installation, otherwise could damage the system and eventually be more expensive than the service for installation.You must install it with the battery disconnected. this is a warning to avoid damaging the system.The diagnostics of the X6 shown that there is an unknown board installed, but this wont show on the cluster data and will only show with diagnostic tools. It will not affect the operation of the vehicle.

Not worth the trouble!
Cost me over $2,000.00 with vehicle damage during installation. Had to replace entire panel. Then starter went out 2 weeks after that repair. Obviously related. Another $1700.00. If your bmw didn’t come with this. Accept that or buy one that has it. Even bmw dealerships have trouble installing this part.

Pretty good
I installed this a few days ago. Unfortunately, it didn't come with instructions, but you can easily find them by googling the name and the car you have.This is a fairly easily install if you have the right tools which are honestly not that hard to get.The biggest thing is taking care of that flex cable. Be gently on it and make sure it goes back on correctly.

Crystal shifter
I don’t understand all the negative reviews. The installation is super easy. Only caveat is make certain you disconnect the main battery and 12V battery before beginning install.Once the batteries are disconnected the removal of the existing shifter is very straight forward as is the install of the new shifter. Once new shifter is installed reconnect the batteries and you should have no issue. (For those who try to remove the OEM shifter while the batteries are connected, what do you expect!) of course it will fry the part!

Do not Purchase!!
It fried my center console!! Getting it fixed is going to be a ton of money! Buyer beware! I don't know how Amazon allows this product to be sold on their platform!

MISSING HALF THE BOX
RECEIVED THIS IN THE MAIL AND HALF THE CONTENTS OF THE BOX WERE MISSING. WTF?!?!!! IS THE BOX SUPPOSED TO BE HALF EMPTY?
