Q: is this the right size for a Dr 650

Works great on my 2005 CRF250X but may not have the cranking amps to start your 650. Check Shorai's website for the correct size.

Q: Are the dimensions in the product information section for the packaging? This same model battery on the shorai website has different dimensions

The correct dimensions for the LFX14A2-BS12 battery should read 4.45" in length, 2.28" in width, and 3.50" in height.

Q: Would a battery tender do a good job to charge this safely? I used on lead acid batteries but it took days, so it's very gentle.

I have found that the battery tenders do not do a good job charging the new or totally dead batteries. I spent about $80 on a 2/10/50amp charger and it works best.
