First time, every time...
Bought for £16 & am very pleased -I use this indoors, since it is not 'windproof' (in my opinion) like the traditional fuel version. It should also be noted that the flame height isn't adjustable. However, I've found it reliable, cleaner than the trad. version AND, being gas filled, it does not suffer from fuel evaporation in really hot weather ('though, for this year, we've probably seen the last of that problem).Had intended to get another, but not for the current £22

Excellent upgrade
This insert allows you to remove the original petrol insert for a butane one. Unlike others I’ve seen this is a soft flame and not a torch which is what I prefer. Fits the zippo casing perfectly - an essential upgrade for all zippo’s!

Easy refill
Retain the classic look and click of the old Zippo but remove the messy refill process. Yes you do have to keep your thumb on the ignition button to maintain a flame but that is not a problem for me. The benefits of the butane refill process far outweigh any perceived inconvenience when holding the ignition button down. Flame was quite high on first few lights but has now reduced to an ideal level for me.

Yellow Flame Butane Lighter
Reviewing the Zippo Yellow Flame Butane Lighter:I’ve already got the Zippo Butane Torch version of these inserts and have been frustrated with them failing to ignite properly unless completely full of gas and set to a high flame.I also missed the nostalgia of the flint wheel striker. So pleased to see this new version which is kind of a hybrid between the two. So far the igniting is much more consistent and flame height for me is just right on this example I have. I like the traditional yellow flame look too more than the blue torch.Negatives I’ve found for my intended use (I don’t smoke) of lighting candles and incense sticks:First thing it takes a few times to get the thumb position muscle memory right as the first few t8mes I struck the wheel and held down the gas release button I was getting my skin pinched between the wheel and the button. After a while this wasn’t an issue but I kind of feel if the top width of the button was slightly bigger it would be easier to hold down.Second and more to do with my intended use. To light candles and incense sticks that are already in an upright position I need to angle the flame and the lighter horizontally. The flame does extend to the side more than the regular petrol lighter but you still tend to feel the heat and have to stop at times particularly as the gas level drops the flame side extension lessons. Obviously if I take the incense stick or candle and hold that horizontally instead to light it then no problems. This highlights where the butane torch insert version is better (if you can get the thing to ignite regularly!).Hope this is of some help to others considering it.

Stopped working...
Worked fine for a while but doesn't light properly anymore - it sparks and gas comes out but no flame. Tried all the "fixes" on YT but ended up with a blister on the side of my thumb instead.

Good product
Good product, good price and fits really well, took a few tries to remember to hold button down. The only downside is there is no adjustment for the flame height. Would recommend.

Better than lighter fluid but not wind proof
If you want to keep your favourite Zippo but are fed up with lighter fluid and wicks then this is a viable alternative. This insert fit my Zippo just fine and I had no issues filling it with gas and replacing the flint. However you get little warning when the gas is about to run out, and the flame height is not adjustable (and it is too high IMO which wastes gas). It is also NOT windproof in any respect. So that's 2 stars off right there.
