PEMP Wireless Carplay retrofit and Airplay Android Auto MMI Box Use The OEM Microphone for BMW F01 F07 F10 F12 F15 F20 F30 F25 F48 NBT (NBT)

My first install was on a BMW X1, and I had issues configuring wireless Android Auto. Support was responsive and we've figured out that my box was configured with AA disabled in the factory settings, after enabling everything was fine.Actually it was good enough that I bought a second unit for our Mini Cooper. I've also added a reverse camera for that car since it did not have any. Now the company doesn't officially mentions supporting Minis, but the infotainment is BMW's NBT, so I felt confident enough.The only issue I have encountered with this second install was that the dynamic tracks were not working, but support provided me with a firmware update that was enable to sniff the steering CAN messages from the MINI and sure enough the dynamic tracks started working after the update.So all in all, a very good product, backed by excellent support.

The media could not be loaded.  I decided to try this unit out because it was half the price of the competitors at Bimmertech. The install was fairly straightforward and the company has their own YouTube channel where they have install videos for almost every unit they sell. I personally had issues because there was no slack in wiring harness from the factory so my install took way longer than it should have because I had to remove the entire center console to get enough slack. That has nothing to do with this unit or the plug and play cables they sent.On my first try I forgot to move over the fiber optic cable from the oem harness into the pemp harness and so some of my display options weren’t working like headsup display. I contacted PEMP customer service and they were quick to respond. I went back and moved over the cable and got everything working.CarPlay works as it should, you only need to connect the device manually once and then everytime you start the car up it will automatically start up CarPlay. When it works it’s great and you would think it’s factory oem.However there were minor quirks that caused me to give it three stars. I use the Hey Siri function a lot so I can dictate texts and use my phone etc. This unit does not use the cars OEM mic and Bluetooth and cause caused tons of problems with hey Siri. It never understood what I was trying to say and it was a headache. I even bought an upgraded external mic to see if that helped end it didn’t. Another issue I had was when putting the car back in drive from reverse the screen would sometimes black out and I would have to manually switch back and forth between oem screen back to PEMP screen to get it work. It happened a few times a week which was annoying.I will say that PEMP customer service is pretty good and respond within a day and they were willing to try to help me out with the Hey Siri issues which is why I didn’t give a lower rating. I actually ended up exchanging the box for the upgraded 10.25 screen this week. I just installed the android screen and I can see an immediate different with the hey Siri option. I’ll continue testing on the android screen and leave a review there.So for half the price of bimmertech and if you don’t use Hey Siri, I would highly recommend this product. I appreciate the responsiveness of the customer service and the fact that they have a YouTube channel that they also are active on is great.

First off let me say, this is a pricey item, so getting something that works maybe 1% of the time and isnt a pain in the butt to use should be a pretty reasonable thing right? Not with PEMP. They make sure they give you the most difficult to use item that works with maybe 1 thing in your car. Can no longer use the internet mic in my 2016 bmw 328I i must use the pretty pathetic, cheap mic they provide you which means more wires outside the on the dash and makes it look awful. The hookup was fairly easy, if you dont mind shoving bundles upon bundles of wires into your dash and trying to make them fit for three hours. Totally on BMW though. Also, I have to use the USB they provided on their wire hookups to use wired carplay. Another star off. ALSO the wireless apple carplay is EXTREMELY LAGGY, extremely slow and is constantly making me miss turns. Please skip this and go with someone else. They clearly are just money hungry to put such an inferior item on this website and charge your 300 dollars for it. What a waste.

The media could not be loaded.  Upon researching options for getting Android auto and screen mirroring for my 2016 BMW X5M I came across this product. It was difficult to find any real reviews on this product. It's half the price of the competition's MMI box, so I gave it a shot. I've installed the device myself by following the directions and watching the YouTube install video. I successfully installed the hardware and after receiving the necessary pnone app from the support team I can easily screen mirror to the device. Android auto and car play work perfectly as well. If you are looking to upgrade your car entertainment system, I highly recommend this product. Follow the instructions and video closely. Their support team is quick to respond too, just keep in mind time zone differences.

The install was easy, took about an hour to get everything in place and place the mic on the steering wheel and the usb dongle through the glove box. My car is a 2013 BMW 328i (f30) and it did not have the two green optic cables or the connected drive menu , as you can see in the pics, but it still worked. At first there was static sound but a quick press of the mode button in the steering wheel fixed it. Email support was quick and helpful. Reason for the 4 stars is bc the reverse camera doesn’t seem to work when in car play mode. Other than that, sound is great, Siri works and no problems having voice calls. Great value!
