I am not sure why sun protection is one of the elements they ask for when reviewing this product. I definately wouldn't recommend using it as an alternative to sunscreen.Even if it was efficient blocking damaging uv light the application time as well as how many sticks you'd have to go through to get decent and even coverage would be daunting.It does moisturize though and it tastes and smells strongly of cherries.

I use ChapStick all year round for sun protection - I have tried many other brands like Burt's Bees, but always end up coming back to ChapStick - an added bonus is that the unit cost is significantly lower than other brands, while my lips still feel moist and don't get chapped and flaky..
