Danzig's Best Album since Danzig: 666
The Best Danzig Album since Danzig: 666!I thoroughly enjoyed this new album from the dark lord of metal. Great Riffs and great Vocals I haven't heard the like of since his 666 release. These tracks aren't as forgetable as the last two albums, although admittedly they both have gems hidden amongst their indifferent tracks. Track 4's "Last Ride" brings Glenn's voice back from a seemingly self-imposed grave of experimentation. Admittedly it's not as Dark as I would like but it's a step in the right direction. And aside from my opinion, it also proves that self made charter of his own course Glenn Danzig is still doing what he wants and I for one am glad to be along for the ride.So if you've ever liked Danzig's voice or guitarist Tommy Victor's excellent Riffs, do yourself a favor and don't miss this Album!

Heavy & Hard
'Black Laden Crown' is bang on from the start. The first 3 songs meld together and act as a nice introduction. I really like 'Eyes Rippin' Fire. Its dirty, nasty, low strung. The vocal delivery by Danzig is not clean and nice. It's not meant to be. He's howlin' more and going for the rawness. This isn't 1987 and he's not some young guy trying to establish himself after the Misfits. He's a grown, old in some eyes, weathered man who is still believing; givin' blood. 'Last Ride' is really nice too. I could totally dig a full acoustic version of this one with Danzig howling and wailing his words. There's not one song on this album that makes me roll my eyes and push 'advance'. It all flows together well and the overall vibe of the album is strictly Danzig. Heavy, hard, droning with fantastical lyrics.Thank you Mr. Danzig for the music.

Black Laden Crown review
The cover sucks look like a 10-year-old did it but other than that it says there's just a little slower than the rest of his albums kind of like his first three. Yeah it's a little slower than the rest of his albums has been but I had to listen to it two or three times so I finally got into it It's not really not that bad of an album It's pretty good still slow getting into it like I said but you'll like it after a bit.

One of his best..
Yes, like most, it didn't grab me immediately. It took me a handful of listens to really start to appreciate and love what he did here. Now this is right up there with 1-4 for me. I love how he has evolved, which comes out in his voice, mostly. Sure, it's different than what he sounded like 20 years ago...but to me, he gets better with age. Reminds me of Johnny Cash, in that sense. The songs and lyrics are just as good as he's always made them, but with a little twist of even more experience, depth and emotion, which I think is why I really love this album. GD can do no wrong!

Danzig is still in fine form
Purchased the cassette version. Was able to rock the entire album loud without the desire to change the song. This sounds more like his earlier work after The Misfits.Buy this on a format you will just let play and play and enjoy 🔥

Glenn really plays it safe nowadays...
It's a pretty standard Danzig album, and that's both a plus and a minus. Danzig really plays it safe with these songs. . . . No surprises here. Very few songs that really hook you and make you want to play it again and again. Pretty much every song here sounds like a song on a previous Danzig album. And therein lies the conundrum: If I already heard all those old albums multiple times, why check this one out? This album really has neither the intensity of Circle of Snakes (my all-time favorite Danzig record) nor the variety of Deth Red Sabaoth (maybe not a perfect Danzig album, but definitely something you can listen to over and over and hear something new every time). This album sounds more like if How The Gods Kill was recorded by the mid-80s Samhain lineup, and it's not just the production value. Glenn really has just recycled too much of his signature sound here. Now just to be clear, Tommy Victor of Prong is a BAD-ASS guitarist, and someone who should've received a better reception from old-school Danzig fans. Tommy is every bit the guitar god that John Christ once was. Tommy also has the added advantage of not coming from a gothic-heavy background like John and Todd Youth. Of course, the John Christ albums were classics, and it's ironic that Glenn eventually pushed John out of the band in the mid-90s because John apparently didn't want to go in a new direction musically after Danzig 4. But Tommy's a veteran metal songwriter in his own right--Tommy wrote the headbanger anthem "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck," for crying out loud--and I can't help but think that a little more input from Tommy and a little more receptiveness from Glenn could've pushed this album from tolerable to thunderous. It's sad that Tommy doesn't feel the love from the Danzig audience like he should.I'd give this album three and a half stars, if Amazon gave me the option. There are some gems on this album for sure. But overall, there's too much drag, too much repetition, and not enough oomph to really make me want to play this album over and over.

Great album!
Anyone looking at this item already likes Danzig's older releases. I assure you this is worthy of the collection. The dirges, the broody crooning, the heavy crunch you've always loved. It's there and worth checking out.Seller was also pretty awesome and responsive when there were questions about shipping!Great experience listening and great experience purchasing!

Awesome Rock Record
This album stuck with me long after I listened to it. All the songs are good and there is NOTHING WRONG with the sound of this record, contrary to what some others have said. Glenn's voice sounds great to me. He reminds me of Ozzy, Jim Morrison with a little Elvis thrown in. This is a great old school dark hard rock album and I found myself headbanging more than a few times. Tommy Victor throwing down on the guitar. Johnny Kelly and Glenn on drums, among a couple others. Nice work on the cd artwork too.
