Not a wax, but is a styling gel for moustaches
I ordered this because it is water based, and not wax based. It fully meets those expectations. It is a styling gel that holds the moustache firmly in place throughout the day. I does flake off by the late afternoon, and makes it look like I have moustache dandruff on my shirt. No big deal, it brushes off. It does have an aroma, as others have mentioned. I don't find it unpleasant, but if you use too much gel, it can be strong. Why not a five star rating? Because it is a styling gel and not wax. It says wax on the tube, and it is not. It is an extremely strong hold gel that makes the moustache hard while the gel is active.Update: So after using waxes, and this gel, for about six months, I will say that there are definitely times when I want to use this gel over a wax. When I am out hiking in dusty trails, I want this gel on my 'stache, and not a wax. A wax would collect the dust and dirt, and I end up with a very gross 'stache. This gel, however, doesn't collect the dust and dirt. Because of this, I upgraded the star. I will end up buying this again, because there are times a gel is better than a wax.

‘Stache-tastic
I’m new to growing out my ‘stache, so I have been trying a few products. I like this one a lot because it is easy to work with. Being water based means no stickiness after a quick rinse of the finger tips. Drawback is, with Covid, you have to wear a mask, and moisture breaks down the firmness fairly quick. Otherwise, it goes for a couple hours of hold. No heating up is also a plus, hate the heavy duty waxes only because it’s hard to work them in, but they do hold much better. Still, it’s a good product with a manly aroma. A little goes a long way.

This stuff is fantastic !
This stuff is like nothing I've ever tried. Its changed my handlebar stach life forever. Thank you Zeus.First thing to note is the fact that it unique physical properties. It comes out of the tube more like a thick pomade, it smear between the fingers like a pomade, but right away starts to dry like a wax. Friction will keep it moving, styling wise its amazingly pliant but firm. Within 10-20 minutes its rock hard and will hold all day and then some. Its really the best of both worlds. It dries and hold like FIRM HOLD gel or Pomade but doesnt get all gloopy and shiney like a gel or pomade would. A little goes a long way. A bunch will let you make a lightning bolt if you want. The only thing I will say is that after an hour, its set rock hard and no amount of friction or fiddling will make it re-tack like a true wax would. But if you get it right first you wont need to re-fiddle later like you would with a wax on a hot day as it relaxes. The last thing I'll say is the smell, it is perfumed. I like it, other will not. It has a typical pomade like aroma, floralish with a hint of musk. Masculine for sure but its right under your nose so you better find it plesant.

Will not replace traditional wax for reasons, but does a couple things no wax can do
So I have a large handlebar mustache, and I always look for new waxes to see what goes on best, what's easiest to remove but what holds the longest and allows crazy shaping and stays that way. I normally use Firehouse Extra Tacky wax and melt it with a small torch lighter and apply with blow dryer. This stuff is really unique- the description is no lie. It really does totally wash out from hard in like 10 seconds with water. So if you screw something up you can start over without mess.It does have a fragrance- and it's not particularly obnoxious but it does kind of smell like a very faint old lady's perfume that has been open bottle for a long time. I wish they would make things like this without scent.Anyway, a critical thing is this stuff is amazing beyond wax if you have a large mustache in what it can do- it hardens in about 2 minutes or so, but it doesn't come out like a wax at all. It says it's a wax, but it's really the consistency of a wet pomade gel. It takes very little, very very little to hold. Like just a smear on your finger is enough to get started. If you use the amount of a grain of rice, that's enough. If you use any more than that, that's when you start to see the white flakes people are talking about. That's when you've used too much. To get the right amount, add very little at a time and comb in to the mustache. Then hold, and you can use a blow dryer while you do so to help set it. I would say after about 5 minutes it gets hard the consistency of something like hairspray on spiked hair if you've ever done like a punk mohawk. You can get the true Salvador Dali sticking straight up and staying that way easily no problem with this stuff!Originally I thought it was amazing, and would replace wax, but there is definitely a flaw. While nothing else I think will touch this for clean hard advanced styling, the second you get your lip wet from a beer or a drink or rain, this stuff will start to break down, and it will bleed just enough onto your lip that you will taste it the rest of the day. If you actually get it on the mustache and it's not pulled up out of the way, the styling will break down it just does not stand up to any kind of moisture at all. That was part of the design so that it's easy to remove but it's also the main flaw. Wax takes longer to apply then this stuff, but good wax stands up to moisture and you just need to get it hot in a shower to wash it out with soap.If you put the right amount on, which is very little, you will get excellent styling with a nice sheen and no white flakes very quickly and it will hold whatever style you want. But if you drink anything I recommend using a straw or this stuff will break down if you get anything even the slightest bit on it.Also the tube is smaller than you think it is. Think two normal super glue tubes worth. A tin of wax lasts me a couple months, even with the small amount I think this stuff will only last maybe two or three weeks tops. It's too expensive for the tiny amount you're given.I think I will use this when I want a particularly clean style to go out or if I am in a hurry, but I think I'm still going to stick to a good wax. I'm still looking for one that doesn't smell like something annoying or old lady's perfume.

Good and bad.
Good and bad.The hold of the wax was great. I purchased because I read it was water based and easily washed out. Which it did. I never had the chance to see how the hold lasted throughout the day because...The smell was to much. It was way too strong, and while they obviously were trying for some manly cologne scent, it just ended up smelling like I had the cleaner aisle of the grocery store on my upper lipTone down the smell, maybe make an unscented and I'll buy again.

I love this mustache wax!
I began rocking a handlebar 'stache several years ago. I tried several waxes that needed harsh soap to wash out, but I didn't like all that fuss. I started looking for a water-soluble wax with no odor, a strong hold, no color (my 'stache and beard are white now), and no flaking. Zeus brand met all of these criteria. I don't have to use any soap to wash it out, it doesn't have any scent to clash with my other grooming products, but it has great staying power. It was exactly what I was looking for!
