A must read for those that work with contracts.
Contract Redlining Etiquette proved to be an informative and valuable resource in my own quest to learn more about contracts and their composition. Though not directly addressing the drafting process, Nada Alnajafi, on the other hand, offers deep insight into a complementary technique for which a mutually beneficial and acceptable contract can be achieved in a more timely fashion. Redlining as she describes it, can help both parties quickly identify the terms and conditions needed in a contract to arrive at a final agreement. After reading through her work, I have found myself incorporating her redlining approach into my own contract edits and revisions. I am thankful for Nada sharing her experience with contracts in this easy-to-read guide to better contracting.

Very solid and practical book
Do you ever have that moment when you read a book and smile to yourself because you agree with everything the author has written?I had that moment when I was reading Contract Redlining Etiquette by Nada Alnajafi. What is this book about? It is, from beginning to end, a set of specific tips for contracting professionals. From the very first pages, Nada gives the reader clear and simple advice on how to:- add comments to contracts;- use 'silent redlines';- communicate with our counterparts;- prepare for and negotiate during meetings;- use internal redlines;- redraft a contract;- use track change mode; and how to finalise a contract. It can be said that the book describes the entire process of redlining and negotiating of a contract.I am a contract lawyer myself and have been drafting, redlining and negotiating contracts for 14 years. As an experienced contract lawyer, I highly recommend this book to anyone who:- is starting to work with contracts,- has experience but still sees shortcomings in their process of working with redlining and negotiating contracts. Is this book just for lawyers? Absolutely not! Working with contracts also involves procurement professionals and people in other parts of the organisation who are involved in the contract negotiation process. If you are a very experienced lawyer who has been working with contracts for a long time, much of the advice in the book may seem obvious and straightforward. This is true: the author does not complicate the subject, but gives specific advice that makes sense.Perhaps some lawyers will think: I could write a book with similar tips. Perhaps. But it was Nada Alnajafi Alnafafi who did it first!

Very quick and easy contract guide! Lots of learnings
Nada's book Contract Redlining Etiquette is a great guide that I'll continue to reference! I've been a fan of her Contract Nerds blog, even though I'm not a lawyer my role as head of finance has me dealing with lots of contracts. The more of the negotiation I can do myself the less we have to pay a lawyer for.Although I have almost 5 years of working with contracts I still learned a lot, most importantly how to speed up the negotiations through clear formatting and following "redlining etiquette". Quick and easy to implement I have already started incorporating the learnings!
