Stunning sound for a very competitive price!
We purchased the 9.CS to work in our newly decorated home.Gone are the previous black floor-standing speakers and in come the 9.CS and 9.1s.Overall for a 15yo+ speaker it still holds its own with the more recent competitors in this field.Bass sounds tight and very well controlled, no distortion or uncontrolled rumbling from the speaker, just a nice tight and controlled bass.Voices sound particularly good, again nice and deep with a lovely crisp clear (but not harsh) openness to them from the done tweeter.Mids are handled exceptionally well, again due to the tight and well controlled bass, coupled with a crisp, clear (not harsh) tweeter you are left with a very comfortable and natural sounding mid which fits very well with voices. As this is a center channel, and is being used in a home cinema setting, we simply can not fault the audio from the speaker at its current price. We tested the speaker against the more modern and larger 10.CM and were surprised how similar they sounded. This may in part be due to the CM not being ported, but it was very interesting to see this smaller and more cost effective speaker go toe to toe with its younger, larger and more expensive sibling. The design is stunning as with all the Diamond range, build quality is as good as you would expect and in line with wharfedales diamond range. Bi-wire ability is included and it comes in a range of colours and styles that would suit any front room.A fantastic center speaker for your home cinema at a very reasonable price.A 5* product and service!

Good speaker
Having been upgrading my surround setup I decided to upgrade my speakers one by one, starting with the centre speaker. This was a little bigger than anticipated and didn't fit where I hoped it would, but a bit of fun and games with a drill, some shelving and a TV mount I got it into a satisfactory layout. Of course, I'm not going to mark this down due to my inability to measure things properly! The sound is clear and gives a reasonable bass response, which is good as I currently don't have a sub (next item on the list). Speech is nice and clear and music is decently balanced in context with the rest of the system. And the white unit being available for half the price of the black one brought it nicely into my current budget!

Great sound
This speaker in white was half price so I bought two and use them as a pair of fronts for a Marantz pm6006 amp to replace Tannoy floor standers that were too imposing in a small room. They're not small. Being centre speakers the clarity is superb and they also pack a bass punch having dual drivers. With a low sensitivity they work really well as fronts for watching TV. Turn the bass up, turn on Loudness they'll be plenty enough to have the neighbours complaining. If needed they are bi-wireable. The rear port is standard for many speakers, I'd prefer front ports but I'm able to place these about 150mm from the wall.

Can fault for the price
I have a set of 220 diamonds and a set of AE’s for the satellite speakers and this centre speaker matches my set up. The sound is of what I expected for the price. I am happy with the purchase
