Will fix very minor scratches
So if you are looking to fix up deeper scratches, then this is not for you. This will take care of any scratch that is superficial, and paint still on. This is great to take out any door hits or paint or very minor and minute scratches. It is easy to use;just put circular and heavier pressure for a few seconds. It polishes also.

This does exactly what it's supposed to do!
There are so many negative reviews of this product due to the ambiguous description and the name 3M has chosen. Apparently people think that this is a miracle in a bottle that will make vandalism/key damage go away. Please, understand what you are buying. Read the bottle! "Removes fine scratches and swirl marks." That's all it does!Rubbing compound comes in a variety of "grits" just like sandpaper. 3M 03900 compound is a "fine" compound and won't take out car wash brush scratches or key damage without HOURS AND HOURS of rubbing - and you would probably go right through the clear coat anyway! This product is finer than 3M 03900 compound. When you are using rubbing compound by hand or with a machine, you get the finish looking pretty good but often you have very very fine, hairlike scratches in the finish. You may also get fine scratches like this from drying your car with a cloth that's not quite soft enough... Tiny, tiny scratches you can barely see when the light hits the car just right. THAT is what this product removes.

3M Scratch Remover Doesn't Work
This product does not work. I followed the instructions, and guess what? It simply doesn't remove or hide the scratch in any way. The light hair scratch on my vehicle is still there. And you can still clearly see it. I was fooled into thinking if I purchased a 3M branded product, that it would work. Its a complete waste of money. You still have to go to a professional body shop, and they can remove the scratch and make your car look like new. Thats why they earn the big bucks. Plain and simple. Your not going to be able to remove a scratch by only paying $9. Your going to have to pluck over the $300 to a body shop to get the job done. So if you buy this product, then you'll end up paying $309 instead. Don't waste your money. Your better off buying a toothbrush and deodorant for $9.

Meh, doesn't really work well
Easy to use, nice polish but it did not "remove" tiny scratches. Maybe some improvement in the finish but the superficial scratches are still there.

Amazing scratch remover
I bought this as well as the Meguiar's ultimate compound in attempts to remove really deep, stubborn swirl marks from a 19 year-old car. They both work. This one is MUCH more powerful though. It does leave swirl marks, so you do need to follow it up with a polish but I actually wound up preferring it to the more expensive Meguiars because it requires much less work for large, stubborn scratches. Unfortunately, I can't really get a good photograph of the difference because the camera just doesn't pick up fine swirl marks. Note that this was all hand polishing because I do not own a rotary buffing tool of any form and it still got out probably a good 90% of the deep swirl marks from years of touch car washes on an almost 20 year-old paint job. I am very impressed.

Nothing Special
I have a gloss black car. I bought this hoping it would get a few minor scratches I have out but unfortunately it didn't work. However might just be scratches or too deep. However my two-star review is not based solely on the fact that this stuff was not able to remove any of the scratches, it was not able to remove any of the many swirl marks on my car either..

Great if you know how to use it
This product is fantastic if you know exactly what you're supposed to do with it. Many reviewers here complain about how it didn't remove a scratch or fill in a small ding. That isn't what this is supposed to do. This isn't touch up paint, nor is it a paint filler. It is a polishing compound, basically a super high grit sandpaper in liquid form. The scratches that this product removes are supposed to be 1200 grit or finer. Basically, if you have swirl marks or dull spots after wet sanding, those are the scratches this product removes. It doesn't remove scratches from a parking ding or key scratches. Also, you will never see perfect results if you apply this by hand. Polishing compounds are meant to be used with a rotary or random orbital. Unless you're able to rotate your hand at 1000 rpm, you will spend hours trying to buff out even the smallest scratches with your hand. Like I said, this product is one of the best if you know what you're doing.
