Bought these speakers to replace two that burned out in 1/16 scale Heng Long RC tanks. The Heng Long speakers don't hack it and burn out because they are only rated at 4 Ohm and 3 Watt. These speakers are rated at 8 Ohm and 5 Watt, so hopefully, won't burn out. I measured the resistance of the Heng Long speaker at 3.2 Ohm, so far off from the rating. The new speaker measured 7.9 Ohm, so almost spot on. I was worried that substituting 8 Ohm for 4 Ohm speakers, the sound would be too quiet. So, I measured at one foot distance using the NIOSH app on iPhone. I got 76.0 dB from the stock speaker and 76.1 dB for the new one. It measures a little louder than stock, but it sounds subjectively a lot louder because the bass sound is much better due to the passive radiator. Someone else commented that the speaker enclosure is well sealed compared to other brands that are not sealed. I can attest to the fact that is true and even the hole for the wires leaving the enclosure is sealed up. These are a really good buy and much better than the Heng Long originals.

These speakers are good for DIY projects, but I wouldn't recommend them as real speakers used for loud music, etc. I connected them to a 3.5mm jack and plugged it into my computer. It was decently loud, slightly louder than the built-in speakers on my computer. The bass was louder, and I didn't even need to attach the speakers to a power source.Overall good.

Low volume

The media could not be loaded. These are great little speakers that pack a punch and offer a decent amount of bass for their small size. Each speaker has one active woofer and a passive radiator. To drive them I am using several 5V mini amps which are powered using the USB ports on the laptop.The stock speakers (2x1W) in the laptop were pretty awful and at 100% volume couldn't be heard over the AC unit running in the summer which was a problem while trying to listen to music or watch media. In the video I compared the stock speakers at 100% volume vs the boombox mod v1 at around 24% and eventually bumped them up to 50% further into the video.The boombox mod v2 was made mostly because I had the itch to take it a step further and am thinking of ways to do it again.

I bought these from Maker Hawk as well as a four pack from Dweii and the Maker Hawk was much nicer product. They are identical but the Dweii uses breathable foam surround and the speaker wasn't even sealed in the box. I would buy the Maker Hawk again but never the Dweii brand.Compare these Dweii speakers to the same combo speaker from Maker Hawk and you will immediately hear an improvement in quality of the sound, clarity, and range.Dweii - Amazon part no. Nice little units! Just wish there was a little more thought put into the assembly. Not airtight, like they should be and they sound "Boxie" or, in need some sound absorbing material inside the enclosure. They sound pretty good (Paralleled for a 4 ohm load) tied to an 8" enclosure with a 2.1 amp but they could sound much better if I can figure out a way to open the enclosures without destroying them..

Just what I needed. Solid sound for 5w speaker. Basswoofer makes big difference compared to similar small speakers. My favorite feature is the flush mount - which allows you to mount to diy devices without any holes.
