Would definitely recommend
It’s decent quality for the price, can’t fault it at all. Came very neatly packed in its own cardboard box, lined with padding so the stones don’t get damaged. Instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I’ve only had it a couple weeks but so far I’ve sharpened 8 knives. They all turned out better than they were when new so very satisfied. Also I can hardly see any wear on the stones so I reckon they will last for a good while so defo worth the investment. One thing I would mention though, as with all whetstones, it requires patience as sharpening one knife takes a while. Especially if they’ve never been sharpened properly before. Keep the stones and the knife wet while sharpening as per the instructions, and be sure to practice the movements. Perhaps watch a video on Youtube that demonstrates how to move the knives etc.All in all, very good kit and would definitely recommend.

Works well but grits mislabelled
This set of whetstones did an admirable job of restoring and honing the edges on some well-used and well worn kitchen knives. However, as other reviewers have pointed out, the grits are completely mislabelled. In order of coarse to fine they go:WhiteRedDark blueLight blue. They're labelled from coarse to fine as:Dark blueLight blueRedWhite. At least my set is, and others by the sound of the reviews. At any rate, once you figure out the grits they do the job well.Instructions are clear and written in English, as well as a number of other languages, and its not the broken, haphazard English you see in a lot of products which come off Amazon.

Worth every penny
I've been wanting something other than grit paper to sharpen my watchmakers screwdrivers which have extremely small blades, an electrical grindstone is too fast a method and just grinds them away. Thing is these are Bergen screwdrivers my daughter bought me for my birthday, and are very expensive. This stone 400/2000 grit is ideal for that job. Comes in a solid wood base, once soaked in water it's ready for use and does a perfect job. This should last me years.

Needs a level of expertise that I don’t have - practice with old knives first.
Amazon Basic Whetstone dual sided 3000/8000: I am certainly no expert on Sharpening knives with anything other than a manufactured sharpener but having read that most knife sharpeners can ruin your knives I thought I’d take the opportunity to try out a whetstone, which seems to be the most recommended method for good knives. The whetstone stone comes in a bamboo box which keeps it steady and guides are provided to assist in achieving the correct angle for your knife. I’ve given this stone 3 stars as I’ve managed to scratch those knives I’ve attempted to sharpen despite the guides... and that was only using the 3000 grit side. I suspect the inadequacy is more about me than the stone which looks very much like others on the market. I followed a utube video which made it look very easy but it requires much practice to develop the skill I suspect. Additionally it is recommended that you hone knives weekly and after using the whetstone to ensure that they remain straight. My recommendation is to practice on old knives before attempting your best chefs knives or better still find a nice man (or women) locally who is an expert and take your knives there!

great for a beginner
As I'm still in the learning process with this Whetstone, I can say it's been a positive experience so far. The product seems to be of good quality, and I appreciate the improvement in my knife's sharpness.

Peaceful and Meditative Practice
I love using this to sharpen my kitchen knives. I find it very peaceful and meditative. The repetition of the motion also sharpens them very well. Very easy to do and difficult to mess up; but may take some time to sharpen several knives to your target sharpness. Inexpensive as well vs an electric sharpener.

Great entry level whetstone
My first whetstone sharpener. Has a coarser grit for the initial sharpen, and a finer grit for finishing up. Took a set of old cuisinart knives from very dull to being able to slice paper thin tomatoes. Good value for money, and easy to use once you get the hang of it

Great quality for the price
These stones were in addition to a 400/1000 stone which I paid more for. Takes some technique to get Avery sharp edge but with a little practice and a couple YouTube technique videos, my EDC is as sharp as new. I would definitely buy again
