This product fusible mesh does that, but by washable, do you mean, it washes away? This one will not wash away, but is washable. Thanks, Johnny

I use it a lot on white knit fabric, but I use it on any light colored knit fabrics as well on lightweight woven fabrics to keep their shape when adding embroidery designs to my garments or projects.

Q: Would this be good for baby onesies?

Yes, this would be soft enough so as not to scratch the baby's skin. If you have a high stitch amount, I would cover the stitches area after it is stitched.
