I spent forever picking out a new fan that wasn’t hideous and wasn’t too expensive. I think this is the perfect combo. The bronze base is a nice color, it uses two regular LED bulbs that you can replace if they go out. It was easy enough to install and is quiet, doesn’t rattle.We chose the fan blades that are a ‘metallic’ paint color which matches the base. The other side is a dark wood color.I specifically bought a fan without its own remote so I could use the Hampton Bay Universal Smart Wi-Fi 4-Speed Ceiling Fan Remote. It comes with a receiver that I wired into this fan so it needs some wire nuts. You also have to put some expander tabs underneath this fan’s bracket to the ceiling so a wifi receiver can poke out (it won’t stick to the ceiling but that is Hampton Bays problem not the Hinkley fan). This allows for wifi control and connects to google home via the Hubspace app so I can voice control the fan and lights!

So, its not a bad install, but I did not read about removing the rubber stops that are screwed into the the slots where you install the fan blades. When I hooked up the power, I could hear the motor working but the unit would not turn. I read and reread the instructions, no where did it say "remove the blocks", it took a minute to figure it out, but its done with and the fan works great.

The Hinkley fans are very quiet but the chain for turning on the fan kind of lightly grinds against the metal. It is a bit difficult to tell where you are as far as the difference speeds go. The fans look nice

It doesn’t work. I bought a remote seperately and it still doesn’t have everything to make it work. Not great! It will work with a chain most likely. I didn’t want a chain. Electricians unable to install without another part not included evidently.

I purchased this ceiling fan to update my previous one. Glad I did. I looks great, gives off a nice bright light. Very happy with my purchase. I did have an electrician install, due to I don't know much about electrical. Only took him about 30 minutes to install once it was put together.
