JOYTOY1/25 Action Figure Iron Wrecker 02-Tactical Mecha Collection Model

The sheer amount of detail crammed into this figure genuinely took me by surprise. Not only are there the expected decals with warnings for maintenance teams, unit insignias, and individual flare, but there are also scuff and damage marks in realistic places, and a realistic amount of painted on "wear", "dust", and "grime" in areas where they should realistically collect with use. This level of detail is highly appreciated as someone who prefers a degree of realism in their models.The pictures do not do justice to the sheer size of this thing. This mech is BIG. It makes my 1/32 scale M1A1 Abrams and T-72M1 look small by comparison (and the attached picture shows this). In fact, depending on your living situation, this figure might even be too big, as it has a tendency to dominate whatever desk/table/shelf you put it on.But this figure has to be big in order for the included mech pilot figure to fit inside, and fit inside he does! Though, it is a pretty tight fit, and I found myself fooling around with different poses for probably about 5 minutes before I got him inside, and even then, I had to close the canopy system firmly but slowly so as to not damage either figure.This figure comes with and impressive amount of joints, double joints, and ball "joint" things that give this figure a surprisingly human-like range of poses and movement. The only downside is that most of the joints in the limbs are discreet "click to position" type joints instead of continuous friction joints like in the pilot figure due to how relatively heavy this figure is, though that is a necessary sacrifice to make to get this thing to hold positions. So, this should be less thought of as a toy, and rather more as a poseable statue due to how stiff most of the joints are. The upside to this is, as previously stated, that this figure holds whatever pose you put it in very well with absolutely no give in any of its joints.As for assembly, these come more or less fully assembled with only the weapon accessories needing to be put on as desired by the owner. However, due to some rough handling by Amazon themselves, my particular figure had had its thigh armor, right thumb, and left foot knocked off in transit. Thankfully, putting these back on was so easy and intuitive that I didn't even need to refer to the instructions, nor did I ever once feel like I was forcing parts together. Speaking of the instructions, they come with a bit of lore on this figure, and provide diagrams that are more than enough to help the owner reassemble this figure from its most basic components.However, this figure is not perfect, and there were a few downsides to its design. First and most minor of these, is that the front pistol grip of the rifle shown in the pictures is not included in the production model. No sign of it is shown in either the instructions or the part blisters. The part that I thought could've been the front grip turned out to actually be a barrel component for the top mounted APS/screening turret thing. Thus, this is an intentional design revision, and it's one I don't agree with, as getting the mech to hold the rifle without a front grip is kind of awkward. Putting the robotic arm thing for the dual ATGM launcher is pretty difficult, though the instructions are a great help here, though do take note of the little red optic that's on the final connector, as it's important to get that lined up perfectly to how you want it to be oriented the first time, as that connector is so stiff that you can't even take it out with pliers. Unfortunately, I didn't notice this until after too late, so the missile optic on mine is pointing ever-so-slightly too low. Oh well, I guess I can just pretend that it has top-attack ATGMs. Furthermore, the robotic arm with the "claw" attachment is too weak to hold much of anything by itself, but this isn't a much of problem as the APS/screening turret thing has attachment points at the top of the mech's canopy specifically for it.All and all, I'm very impressed with the quality of this figure, especially at such a reasonable price, so I plan on getting more of these eventually. This is definitely the beginning of "Chinese engineering" as a buzzword for high-quality and relatively inexpensive products, so JoyToy and their peer companies are companies you ought to keep track of.

Been eyeing these for a long time. Collector here, from Joe's, marvel, transformers..and BATTLETECH. The figures are smaller, 1/24 scale, so no your Joe's won't play with these, but you may be able to get certain ones in it. Pictured next to a 6" fort nite figure for comparison.The quality of this overall package here is seriously astonishing when you look at what a modern retail toy costs. I've bought a few of the joytoy 1/18 figures and for the most part they were a let down.This is a different story.The joints are all nice and tight, or ratcheted. I've been building models my whole life..and for what I paid for this, I would charge someone to paint a toy like this, THIS WELL, for a similar price. The paint job is probably the best I've seen on any type of toy/action figure like this, and I spend the big bucks on alot of 3rd party stuff.Hold up. Now this is a TWO SEATER...mech..that holds 2 figures? With opening cockpit, opening hatch with MG..it even has a drone and a clear post to make it look like it's hovering. It comes with a wicked shield, claws, missile boxes, adapters..and TWO very good figures. Add to that it even comes with a flare gun that clips in the cockpit, and even a set of binoculars that fit in the cockpit in a little cavity.The figures. WHOA. I collect classified series, and alot of the modern 6" figures. These small figures have just as much, if not more articulation than most 6" lines. Ball jointed wrists, feet..swivel arms and thighs..truly amazing. Add to that the top notch paint job..and all the gear is removable. Both figures even have a pistol holster,with a small pistol that fits in it. Seeing both figures in the mech is an awesome sight, and makes the battletech fan in me wish I had these as a kid.One thing that confused me about these before I owned one was the feet, they have wheels. The thing is, the feet actually transform, flip parts around, and had a padded foot mode..and a wheeled mode. This makes perfect sense..if this vehicle were on stable concrete or on base, you would just use these wheels to move it around so you put less stress on the main walking servos. I love the idea, and I can buy into it. No, I don't picture this "skating into battle", I picture it as a way to move the vehicle either when it's squatted down, or for transport. Ingenious idea, and similar to what we will probably see in humanity's first real mechs.There is also a ton of customization. Make the claws tripods for extra weapons..etc.If you've been looking at these like me, THIS is the one to try out. Great price, great colors and weapons. Its a TWO SEATER, with a commander binnacle and MG mount.Now I'm a fan...and I'll start looking for the next one for this to fight. I would love to see a good stop motion made with these..

Nicely detailed but would not recommend outside of a collectable. Joints and attachments wear out if played with to much.

Absolutely beautiful!

As an adult, I still like toys, but am often disappointed. This is honestly one of the best figures I have ever bought. Not only is it relatively sturdy, it’s a decent size, has multiple setup options and almost every joint can be adjusted down to the mech’s fingers. Having just gotten into armored core 6, I wanted a cool figure to mess with and this was such a perfect companion. Seriously a great purchase.
