Was skeptical about pencil holding up to woodworking abuse. Ended up working great !
Needed a fine tip 0.5 lead to work with my Incra Marking T-Ruler. The incremental marking holes are tiny but give great results. But I kept breaking the pencil leads with my cheap BIC pencil especially since Im marking on wood. Amazingly the double spring mechanism on this one fixed that but you need to keep the lead short or it will still break. The "unbreakable lead" labeling is a little misleading since the springy retractable tip is where the magic is happening. The lead is just a normal lead, so it will work with other brands too. Bottom line: light weight, simple, looks and works great as long as you keep the lead short.

Favorite mechanical pencil!
The Zebra Pen DelGuard is the best mechanical pencil I've ever owned. When using any other brand I am always breaking the lead but the DelGuard prevents that from happening.

It delivers magic
Some Japanese rocket scientists with way too much time on their hands came up with this amazing design. I know it is advertised as an 'unbreakable lead' which seems to stretch credibility. However, having said that I must confess that I have not broken even one lead! I marvel at the engineering that went into this! If only to impress your techie friends, you really need to buy these!

The perfect pencil for my son the engineer
When I tell you that I have a kid who is smart that would be an understatement. He studies what he wants how well it works etc. almost to the ridiculous degree. And when he needed mechanical pencils for his college work he studied which one he wanted, he tested several and ended up buying this one. He has a bunch of these this is not his first purchase of these so if you’re looking for a pencil that was researched to the highest degree, this is the one!

Nothing will ever be as great as my red and blue mechanical pencil set. They were perfect for my goofy writing style. Lasted for 8 years... But the technology in these is cool. And they work pretty darn well.

The perfect pencil for musicians!
I sing in two choirs and constantly have to mark my music during rehearsals. There is nothing more frustrating than having the lead in my pencil snap as I am making notes in my scores; by the time I manage to advance more lead, I wind up missing my instructions and not writing in the proper markings.This DelGuard pencil changes everything! No matter how hard I press, the lead does not break, which saves me time and aggravation. Now, I can mark my music without the distraction of lead snapping off! I highly recommend these pencils!
