Q: does this requre batteries or does the water power the LEDs?

In the back of the unit are 2 black battery packs about 2’ from top in the center you can see the batteries held on with Ba bracket. Be sure the toggle switches are both set on. Batteries are needed to see blue LED’s and the water temp lcd.

my temp timer went out after 5 days. LEDS still working fine
