ice making machine
I got this for my mom for her birthday and she loves it . Its easy maintenance to clean , just put it over the sink , let the water out from the hole at the bottle , wipe it down and plug it back up to make the ice again. it makes 2 different size ice cubes and takes not even 30 minutes to fill up the machine. its a nice size so it can fit on any counter top or small space. 10/10 ill recommend , shes had it for about 3/4 years now and it still works like new.

MAGIC CHEF is the brand to Buy, we have two of them
MAGIC CHEF is the brand to Buy at AMAZON. We have two of them so we never run out of ICE. We turned off and removed the ice-maker in our Freezer, as it was connected to the CITY water even though there is a FILTER in our Refrigerator; Filters don’t remove the dissolved heavy metal components in city water. Other than the great ICE, we use DISTILLED Water (or Quality Bottled water) in these units, as the water quality of TAP water is questionable. Every MONTH drain the Water, and Rinse the internals with HOT water sprayed from your Kitchen Sink sprayer. I graduated with a Degree in Chemistry, and read the annual reports that municipalities are required to send into the US Gov. Boca Raton, FL is supposed to have the best municipal water quality, the water quality is Questionable at best. These MAGIC CHEF ice makers are terrific and generate lots of ice cubes to service quests that visit with us. Set the Unit to LARGE Ice Cubes. The internals contain a real Compressor sealed system using the updated R600a series Refrigerant. Remember don’t use TAP water, use Quality Bottled Water - and Important, DRAIN and Rinse the Ice Maker every MONTH.

Works great!
It is so simple and easy to use and it generates ice with no effort other than pouring in water. I have had it running for days now and have accumulated pounds of ice. It surprises me how quickly it generates the ice. Since ice has jumped up to over $2.00 per 5 pounds this little machine will save me a lot of money!

Makes the best ice (for those who like to chew ice). Unfortunately the machine breaks a lot.
We are a family of 6, with two adults and four kids under age of eight. We first purchased this ice maker about 5 years ago to sip lime tea the ice in our new Samsoung fridge that just did not keep up with the amount of ice we used each day.To our surprise, we absolutely fell in love with this thing. Everyone drank more water and quickly became addicted to chewing this ice.We did have to repair that first one about two times, once when the plastic ice turner inside broke and the other when the water despensor broke. Both easy repairs. That machine finally gave out after about 4 years. We quickly purchased another in January 2017.Same as usual till about 3 weeks ago when the machine turned off saying it was filled with ice, even though there was no ice in the machine. I have messed with the sensors and other parts of it, with no success. So after less then a year, this machine broke. We have tried to not have it but everyone in the house misses the machine and the ice it makes. So today I gave in and purchased yet another one of these machines. This time, I was happy to spend the extra $20 for the 4-year full warranty Amazon provided. If you like ice, then this is the machine for you. Unfortunately, it has a tendency to break in a year or two. So I highly recommend buying the protection plan. Coming from someone who never buys those things, it will be put to use before the 4 years are up.

Works, but VERY difficult to clean
Does the job as expected - i.e. makes ice fairly quickly. As other reviewers note, it doesn't keep the ice super cold; I recommend scooping the ice into a bag or bin in the freezer (which will also give you colder, longer-lasting ice). Reasonably priced. The included plastic scoop is, of course, useless; per many recommendations, we bought a metal one at the same time. The basket that catches the ice is NOT dishwasher friendly - ours melted and deformed in the dishwasher (air dry cycle only, no heated dry) and now we have to force it in very carefully so the machine doesn't register that it's full. The reason I'm rating it low is that it is VERY, VERY difficult to clean. If you run it for a couple of weeks at a time, you will start to see bits of mold growing in nooks and crannies. Yes, you should clean it oftener than that, but if you do let it go, there are places that are nearly impossible to get to, which are not visible. Specifically:The flap that helps toss the newly-frozen ice chunks into the main bin. It has ridges, which can be a focus for developing bits of black mold. It seems flimsy, though you can clean it with a soft toothbrush, but the underside is hard to get to.The really critical part is the area where the ice is actually formed: the metal "fingers", the curved trough that holds water while the ice is freezing, and the white plastic area behind all that. These are not terribly easy to see, when you're doing a routine quick clean. I finally went to do a deep clean, and holy cow, the trough, and the plastic area behind, basically had a solid layer of slime. It took me several days, with several different types of brushes, to finally (I think) get that gunk GONE. No brushes we had around the house could even reach the back section, nor the back parts of the fingers. I am just hoping they are clean now. It's currently running with a vinegar/water mixture, and tomorrow it will meet the dilute bleach / water mixture. There really is no excuse for that kind of design flaw. I've seen online how-to videos that talk about basically partly disassembling the machine to try to clean it.
