It's all about love
We used this book to show how their are many types of families prior to telling our son he was adopted. He loved the book and even shared it with his class. The message is clear and simple

A Book For EVERY Family
If your family isn't the textbook definition then THIS book is for you. Covering the huge gamut of families out there, Author Hannah Bruner does an incredible job showcasing the huge variety of families out there and the importance of them in the world. Representation is vital for all of our little ones to feel accepted and valued in this world and this book serves that ever important purpose. I urge any "outside the box" family with littles that are struggling to find their unique identities to purchase this book and add it to their collection. It's the perfect fit and an even more heart-whelming feeling your left with afterwards.

Great to teach diversity
We are preparing to foster next year, and this book has been my 2 year olds favorite. It is awesome to teacher that there are many “different” looking families and all that matters within a family is LOVE. Excellent work

Inclusive to All!
This book is a MUST HAVE for your blended family, classroom, and home! It teaches about inclusion by emphasizing all families come in different shapes & sizes. Not only is the book full of amazing takeaways, but the pictures show LGBTQ+ families and families of Asian, White, Black, and Latinx decent. This is a MUST HAVE!

Cute and Inclusive
We're teaching our daughter about adoption. This book is a great way to talk about how families are made all sorts of ways. It's very simple, inclusive and not specifically about adoption.

Not for adopted kids
Wow. I had high expectations but this book is NOt for single adoptive moms or dads. It doesn't acknowledge our families. I will add that it also does not strike me as a book for children who were adopted from birth. I know it's hard to include every possible family formation, but common, there are so many single parents out there. On the second to last page there is an indirect mention that "Family isn't just sharing DNA or last names. It's not made from getting married or signing a page." But that is all. One little blurb. It doesn't explicitly mention mommy only or daddy only homes, adoptive or otherwise. The book does explicitly mention step parents, grand parents, foster parents, and 2 mom and 2 dad families, which is impressive, but my take is that it leaves single parents largely out of view. I will give 2 stars instead of one for the colorful and inclusive illustrations.
