Product great, but after fabricating profile would be awesome if you compressed air to clean aluminum shavings.Open the box and shavings fell all over the floor, paid a lot for this product, lol I’m sure if I sent a built kitchen to be installed and there was wood shavings all in the cabinets I’m sure customers would be saying the same thing 👍

This is a great product that performs precisely as advertised. However, every construction/installation detail is important, particularly for long shelves. My installation involved a 21 foot mantel (21’ x 9.5” x 2.25”) weighing approximately 175 lbs. I used four 2 foot equally spaced sections of HOVR bracket that were shimmed against the wall as directed. End-To-End planar and level orientation was confirmed with a string. Constructing a “shelf” this long using three laminations of ¾” plywood, simple table saw, and no dado blade was a bit of a challenge and resulted in a wall mating edge that was slightly curved in one section. The HOVR mounting hardware is intolerant of this error resulting in my inability to engage one of the 2 foot sections. However, the remaining three sections were engaged and produced a very secure mantel. This is an excellent product and I would use it again, but also pull a string on the shelf mating edge to ensure that it is absolutely flat.

These are a great option for hanging floating shelves. I make solid 2" thick x 10" deep shelves from walnut and maple. This bracket is firm and secure when installed correctly and mounted to the wall properly. Using the setscrews through the bottom makes a huge difference in stability. For stability and ease of installation they are worth the price, in my opinion.Hardware is included and even comes with a drill bit to drill holes in the back plate where they need to correspond to stud locations. A 5/16 tap is not incuded but needed to create threads for the setscrews.I would like to be able to purchase a router template to make clearing out the wood on the back a little easier.I use a forstner bit to "hog out" the majority of the material then I use a router bit and a guide to clean the edges and get the correct depth.

Such a disappointment! Had two Hovr brackets installed on 2" thick live edge floating shelves. The brackets are aluminum which bends easily and so they have too much play in them, causing the shelves to have about 1/4 inch of movement up and down. Feels like 20lbs would rip it right off the wall. Total waste of time and money having them professionally routered out by a wood working shop and installed by my contractor who said they were garbage. Wasted $2000 worth of custom live edge.

I bought these brackets to install six shelves. Four were 3x12x 6’ and two were 3x8x6’. I would say these are not for inexperienced wood workers. here are the tools I used; router with flat bit, drill, aluminum thread tap drill bit, stand wood drill bits, circular saw, stud finder, and table saw. If you don’t have a 1” long flat router bit, I would suggest getting one to avoid multiple passes with a router. The only issue I had was getting the shelf locked into the wall bracket. Our walls had some waves in it so I needed to shim with washers, and it took some adjusting to get the shelf to lock in. I recommend these brackets over the shepherd brackets only because they allow more flexibility for adjusting in place and you can cut to any length. Some of the shelves were agains a corner and I was able to just slide over before tightening the set screws. They are very solid and are re-useable if needed.

A little finicky if the wall isn’t completely flat.

The mounting brackets are pretty heavy duty. Easy to use. A couple of things I didn’t like are the shelf has to be thicker than one inch, because that’s how wide the bracket is. You can see where the access holes are that tightens the two pieces of the mount, that you make in your shelf. I guess you could put a plug in place but might be a challenge to remove plug when you remove the shelf.
