Excellent way to extend signal
I bought this 4K HDMI Extender as my main home entertainment kit is across one wall of the room and the projector is being relocated to opposite wall - around 20 feet away. I need something to extend the main HDMI from receiver to projector. Furthermore, I have older long HDMI, but it is thick / bulky and not good for 'hiding'. The projector has Ethernet in, but I wanted to keep that separate and was not sure if it would work anyway as projector is 'older' and I just wanted an easy solution. The 4K HDMI Extender was securely packaged and arrived within expected window.Pros- Lightweight- Small- Easy to 'hide' if need be- Robust metal casing- Uses common Ethernet cable : Mine is high speed Gigabit RJ45 cat7 10Gbps 600Mhz- The Ethernet cable is much easier to manipulate around room and easier to fit / 'hide' than HDMI [even thinner type] cable- Great, stable video and audio transmission- Remote control extender [works well] : This is a handy option that I trialled to be thorough but do not need to use- Uses standard HDMI between transmitter and source then between receiver and targetConsIf I am being picky, I would have preferred a UK 3 pin power supply. The power supply [my case] is the European 2 pin type. The power in / out is not an issue as such! I solved this by using a good quality adapter that takes in the full pins and 'mould' of the 2 pin design and makes it a 3 pin plug - not a simple shaver adapter!Note:The 4K HDMI Extender is a two part set : Transmitter and Receiver. The two parts have power in options, but the set contains only one power supply. This is not a fault! Only the transmitter needs power.I was initially sceptical / wary as I have not previously used PWAYTEK. However, I am more than happy with the purchase and very much satisfied that the PWAYTEK 4K HDMI Extender has met my needs.

Simple way to extend any HDMI connected product
We have an older Sky + box and it connects to a remote TV using the RF out and a magic eye. Being RF (coaxial) it’s not great quality.I can feel that a Sky Q box will be inevitable sooner or later and wanted to have a solution in place that would work for us (as there is no RF out on Sky Q).This required me to do some hole drilling and cable laying to get Ethernet to the remote location but once in place this works perfectly, including IR pass through.Just for anyone who needs clarity this will not give you multiroom as such: it’s just duplicating a single signal. At the price, and compared with other far more costly alternatives (HDMI over wireless, HMDI over Powerline) this is a no brainier.Absolutely recommended. I find the negative reviews inexplicable.

Excellent response from supplier due to defective units
Updated: Excellent customer service who sent out new units due to defective ones after the return time via Amazon was up.I could not get a sound nor a decent stable picture over my 20m cable, the picture would not re-connect if I disconnected and reconnected turns out the 1st units were defective as they wouldn't work on shorter lengths either. The supplier sent new units out after the Amazon return time was up, and these worked a treat on shorter cables (10m). I then tried the 20m cables but using a newer set up of cable and this worked great!I'm trying to use my PC games on my homecinema set up, and hoping for a wireless controller to work with the controllers dongle plugged into the receiver end, but this is my only thing to solve now. Keyboard and mouse works fine, so I am not sure why the controller doesn't work?So far the customer service is great, and the units appear to be working fine up to 20m+ .

Faulty power supply fire risk
Product worked well for a few weeks. Then unexpectedly the psu failed casing the plastic housing to be launched in to the air.Luckily the buildings electrical protection killed the power.

Works great
Works great. Used in a building with RJ45 patched via wall/floor sockets. Running the HDMI signal from CCTV recorded across 20 meters without any issues. Works great.

This will NOT work via powerlines or a switch but woks perfectly with a direct cat5e/6 cable
I bought this based on a review left on amazon which stated these extenders worked over a network switch/powerlines.They do not. They work perfectly when the pair are directly connected via an ethernet cable. The reason is the signal is simply sent down the copper in the cable, not as TCP/IP packets. If you want something like that you'll need a "HDMI over IP" or "one to many" extender such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08XQ7VSF5These identical to this product, except they convert the signal to TCP/IP packets which can be used as part of a regular home networkAnything that mentions "cat5" or "cat6" is like this adapter and will not work as part of a home network

Easy setup and reliable
I bought this at the end of July and it’s now the middle of September. I run it over cat5e from downstairs where the virgin media box is to upstairs in the bedroom. It’s been flawless, no dropouts at all like my old one. One thing to note is that this is hdmi extender only, not infra red, meaning it doesn’t send your remote control signals too. Luckily, because the virgin media remote control uses RF this is not a problem for me.
