The base package doesn't come with a controller? is there no way to operate unless i buy a dji controller separately? what are my options?

Does the new dji app “dji fly” support local data mode or an offline version for those who do not want information collected/uploaded to china?

Customer service is also from China or some other planet. Buyer beware! Although I loved the first five weeks with my mini, when I needed it to work it was a fail. Remote control refused to connect with the mini. Having a tech background I dug right in to fixing it on a weekend. All I found were horror stories. When Monday came around I reached out to customer service. I figured that being out of California I would receive good service and a quick answer. No such deal. Foreign CS over VoIP with latency and language problems. To the best of my knowledge this product or any of the others are represented well here in America. It was a nightmare.I just returned it and was lucky Amazon let me do that. Honestly, think twice. Google DJI Mavic mini complaints. Save yourself some heart break.

Battery life is about 2X longer than the Spark.
Camera is 2.7K on the Mavic Mini vs. 1080p on the Spark.
Gimbal is 3-axis vs. 2-axis on the Spark.
Transmission distance is 4000m on the Mavic Mini, vs. 3000m on the Spark
