Seems to be working
I have two herniated discs which, one after another, has caused the most miserable year of my life. More recently the left side herniation (I have the joy on both sides) at L5 S1 had got really out of hand. The pain down my left leg actually made my eyes water.I'm a fit and healthy 40 year old. I run and cycle 3 times a week and walk everyday covering 17-20 miles a week. I'm healthy BMI. Im writing all this because chances are if you're reading this you have a similar problem and you may not be as active as me. I'm living proof that this can happen even if you're not overweight or inactive. What this has meant though is that basically there is nothing for me except either "time" or surgery. So far I've opted for time but only because I want to enjoy the summer after this ruining the last 12 months of my life. Then this really bad patch arrived and in all honesty I had no idea how I was going to get better. I can't even lie down to relieve the pain now, which has always been my go to. The pain in my leg was so intense I couldn't concentrate. I've worked through the whole time except 1 day but I honestly thought I'd have to get signed off.I've tried pregablin but that seemed to make it worse. A good dose of codeine was the only relief but short lived and the surgery seems to act like I'm a drug dealer every time I ask for it.I had a bad herniation when I was 16 and I was immediately given a back brace. This time everyone said no braces because "you'll be reliant". Well being reliant on codeine doesn't seem much better!I've tried everything you can find on the internet. tens machine, scisticalm machine, CBD cream (that actually did help) countless supplements turmeric, magnesium, potassium. I paid for specialist pilates lessons. Swimming. You name it if it says "may help back pain" I've done it. Although some help with pain none seem to be sustained, so although a few hours of relief then later in the day I'm back to square one. At 40 surgery really doesn't seem appealing. I know maybe you will be reading this while waiting for surgery but for me the risk that another disc goes after just doesn't seem appealing until I know I've done everything I can. But this recent decline really had me considering I had made a mistake and just needed to get it done.We went away for a holiday and while away in the wild I realised just how bad it was. At home I can control things but outside I was really struggling.I happened to meet a chap who saw how bad I was and asked what the problem was. He'd had a similar experience and recommended this belt. I got it ordered to our holiday accomodation the next day thinking we'll its the only thing I'd not tried. Plus the only thing 3 physios, 2 GPs and a neurosurgeon can agree on is if this was 40 years ago I'd be sent to do the full traction table in a rehab unit...The first time I put it on I was sceptical. Took it off after 30 mins and pain was back almost immediately. But then I tried again and again and over about 4 days the intense eye watering pain stopped coming back.I'm not saying this is curing me and I'm not sure it works how they say or if a non inflating belt would do the same. but it seems to be lifting me off the nerve. Ive a long way to go for this to recover as even if this is taking the pressure off the nerve, the nerve has to repair which takes time. But it's now been 10 days of belt use and it's the first time I've actually thought I can get better without surgery. I've not taken any pain killers in over a week. Id class the pain I currently have to be fluctuations of 3 to 5 out of 10 whereas before it was 7 to 10 out of 10.Maybe it has nothing to do with the belt of course but I do think that's unlikely. It's the most sustained improvement I've seen and I've had months of no improvement at all. I'm also not susceptible to placebo given how many other "remedies" I've tried without any decent results. One thing for sure it's not made me worse so I really do recommend giving it a go especially if like me your only problem is the nerve. I have to say I do feel it makes me a bit stiff muscle wise so if you're still suffering with muscle spasms then do be careful and only use it little and often rather than big sessions. Good luck to you if you do give it a go. I can honestly say this is the worst I've ever felt physically and mentally so I know how you feel and I hope you get better.

Im going with a two star review because it didnt help at all with my back problem...
Edit: Bumped the product review 1 star for two reasons: 1) I am actually finding it gives me a lot of support in the sitting position, which I find incredibly uncomfortable without the belt. And 2) Because the product did not work the way I had hoped, the seller has offered a full refund - which I have declined because of reason 1.The positives: Well made. Sturdy. Velcro works very well at securing to waist (I have a similar non-decompressing waist strap on which the velcro is rubbish!). Pumps up well although not nearly enough to actually give any noticeable 'decompression'.I have a slipped disc L5/S1 resulting in compression of the S1 nerve root that is causing considerable discomfort. Tried this and it didnt work at all. Did not hasten healing and did not give any pain relief. That said, it may work on other people - or on other conditions. As stated, it seems very well made and sturdy and is comfortable enough to wear although bending down with it on is not recommended.

Hongjing decompression belt don’t buy
Tried this only once for half an hour and was in terrible pain for 2 days following it . Started with sciatica on right leg that I never had before and dreadful back ache that needed ibuprofen and paracetamol as well as Gabapentin for 2 days . Sent straight back as a returns .

I am delighted.
Firstly, I purchased this as I have been having recurring back problems after slipping a disc in December 2020. I paid the full price and have been offered no inducements to write this review. I am not a medical professional and any comments I make reflect my own condition and I would not want to infur this will help everyone.Over the past 15 months I have had a recurring problem with my back which has never been the same after I slipped a disc. About two weeks ago (early March 2022) my condition reappeared. This is extreme pain in my lower lumbar region. This is with me 24/7, in bed, sitting, standing there is no respite. I can lay in certain positions where it is slightly lessened, but even with pain killers it is painful.I have used a system of hot water bottles and long hot epsom salt baths which certainly ease things, I was also using another type of belt, the sort like a strong elasticated bandage, this gave a little help.I decided to try this belt in desperation as I was at the point where I really was at the end of my patience.Belt arrived at 4pm on Thursday afternoon. Put belt on. Instant relief, pain went from 8 to 2. I could stand up straight. By Saturday morning I could walk with the belt on around the local lake, which is a 1km circular route. This also involved getting in the car which is usually agony. Sunday (today) went to lake again, walked 1km and was enjoying it so much thought about second lap, although I was cautious and refrained. My system is get up and put belt straight on for an hour to 1 and 1/2 hours. Sit and read book with hot water bottle behind my back for an hour or so. Get up and put belt on again for hour or so whilst surfing the net etc on my computer, I do this at a standing desk as that helps my back. Take belt off over lunch, replace with hot water bottle. Afternoon involves a hot epsom salt bath and then another hour in the belt. Evenings are sitting watchin the box with a water bottle and I get up at regular intervals to walk around gently for both my back and blood pressure. My back is still sore some of the time, but if I sit carefully it is ok. In bed I can lie still and there is no pain, it does hurt if I roll over and standing with the belt on is painless and without is minor at worst. I put this to give an idea of the improvement. The progress I have made is remarkable and I am very happy I bought this belt. As I said at the outset, this may just be it works for my condition, but everything the seller claims is true in my case.
