Should be an example under "Under appreciated."
"Gusto," is definitely an odd ball, but it doesn't stop it from being bad. There are some pretty poppy moments, but ironically it is the best song writing they've done. There's songs on here that don't even sound "punk," but the songs rule. If you're a fan of lots of music but also have a strong love for punk rock, as I do, you might fall in love with this album as I have. I think the song "Lemon Water," is hilarious. Right from the beginning you'll know this isn't familiar Guttermouth, and for some that'll be great, but unfortunately many people want to just hear the same record again and again. I too, like the majority of Guttermouth fans, believe "Musical Monkey" is the best album, but it doesn't mean they never made good albums again. Furthermore, it's appropriate to ask could they have topped it had they wrote songs the same way? "Gorgeous" bridged "Covered With Ants" perfectly. As mentioned before if you're a fan of other music AND liked "Covered With Ants," you're almost guaranteed to like this album.

Great album by guttermouth! 5/5
The critics call this album "experimental" and rate it as poor, but that is fake news! This cd is great! Yes it is a departure from their classic 90's sound, but it's fantastic front to back! It's a fun album. Good for road trip music. Worth picking up. Give it a go! Cheers-

Different, But Great
Yeah, this album is not really what anyone was expecting from Guttermouth. It's really different when compared to their other stuff, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Actually, it's not a bad thing at all. This album has everything from punk to country to folk, and virtually all the songs are top-notch. If you look past the fact that this is the band that brought you "Lucky the Donkey", you'll find a truly great CD. Not every song has to sound the same for it to be good.If you want straight-up punk, check out Covered With Ants or one of their releases on Nitro. If you're willing to experiment, this is a great album.

Not quite musical monkey, but still pretty good.
Marc Atkins of Guttermouth is the most ethically punk of any frontman in the punk scene today. Unlike most...his head isn't shoved all the way up (...). This album seemed like kind of a gamble, laden heavily with pop. It comes through with classic, speedy punk tunes like contribution. I've read promises that the next album will be more like there root albums...but if it keeps going this direction...I won't be to disapointed. Hopefully these guys won't ever stop pissing off the vegans, straight edgers, and hippies that plague us all. Go Guttermouth!
