Super well thought out whip
Purchased a set 2 years ago for my Hurricane Sundeck. Boat weighs close to 5000lbs. They have been fantastic. Super flexible, yet hold my boat off in all conditions. Very little need for adjustment and we experience 2 to 4 ft wind driven tides. The swivel works perfectly and everyone admires how easily I can bring my boat up to the dock for boarding or fueling. Lost a part in the water and General Marine had it in the mail the next day. Can't say enough about how well this product is made.

Great whips, but need safety modification
Super heavy duty whips. The swivel feature is awesome. Just installed them 4 days ago, and two times now I've had to tighten the set screws. That is not a heavy duty feature at all. First bad event was when I took one of the whip lines off the boat cleat and went to swivel it up, the attachment collar slid down and top pole came crashing down onto the dock. Nearly hit me on the head, and barely missing my brand new 2020 very expensive boat. I'd still recommend buying them, but I'm going to drill out all the holes on the two collars and install bolts with lock nuts so that I don't have another near miss. Other than that they are super effective at keeping the boat off the dock, and we get a lot of surf sized wakes on our lake.

broke
The rod broke within 2 months and the company would not refund my money. Very disappointing. Only 30 day warranty. Wind was maybe blowing 10mph. Do not buy from this company. They will not stand behind their product for more than 30 days.

Simple and durable design
Easy to install. Simple and durable designed. The whips seem to be sturdy. Please note: no mounting screw/nut hardware in the kit.

Serious design flaw
I was initially impressed. The movable base is clever as it allows you to move the whips to a vertical position out of the way while docking. The whips themselves seem stout enough and the hardware and lines are decent. They work well overall but.....We were sitting in our boat on the dock when we heard a crash. Upon investigation, we found the upper section of one of the whips in the water. This piece is held in place with an aluminum splice collar. This collar is held in place with two tiny set screws, which are all that prevent it from dropping over the lower section causing the upper section to fall. Upon checking the other whip, it was on the verge of falling as well Attempting to tighten these set screws further results in stripping the threads in the soft aluminum.I solved the problem by drilling a hole through the center of the collar and installing a through bolt that prevents it from dropping. At this point, all my set screws are stripped but since the load is pulling the whip into the socket, I think it will be OK for now. At some point, I'll weld on some nuts and install proper set screws. Hopefully the manufacturer will correct this flaw on what is otherwise a decent product.

Poles come apart too easily
The whips were installed mid 2019 and twice the top half of the whip has fallen off into the water when not in use. The connecting sleeve is the problem - with wind and the floating dock rocking, the sleeve eventually slides down and the top pole is no longer supported. The first time the set screws had loosened, so I used blue locative to stop that. But the screws stayed tight and yet the sleeve once again slowly worked it’s way downward and the top pole fell into the water. I think the connecting sleeves need to be thru pinned to solve this problem.

Great Product But Flaws Exist and ZERO COMMUNICATION FROM SELLER
i put these on my houseboat on lake powell to secure one jet ski each (800lbs each) and used them for 3 weeks total, two in 2020 and once this year and, although the whips are thick fiberglass, the bottom whip on one of the units split. i understand how they work and did not have them overly extended yet under a moderate wind, the failure occured. I understand these things happen and i really like the product and i put 3 different requests in to the company for help with warranty or even some discount to get a new bottom section mailed to me for my next outing on the lake. Unfortunately, every effort i made to get a replacement went unanswered and this is very disappointing considering the cost of these units. Unfortunately, this is my last resort to get a vested person at the company to give send me some communication and a solution. my fingers are crossed and i will update if they contact me.Update 9/1/21: No Contact From Company Still. Avoid this company, terrible customer service. again i will update if they are willing to help me.
