Duct Quick Disconnect
I bought this to use with a modular custom 6" exhaust vent duct for a portable AC unit in a dedicated, climate controlled media equipment closet, and it worked perfectly. My first portable AC unit in the closet quit working after about 5 years, so I had to replace it. Unfortunately, the new AC unit came with a different type of exhaust hose attachment, even though both units were LGs, and I stupidly built the first exhaust duct to last forever. Since I needed to recreate part of the exhaust duct because of the different AC exhaust hose attachment types, I upgraded the 6" inline exhaust fan I'd been using to help push the exhaust about 20' to an external wall, as I wasn't sure how much longer the original fan would last and they're relatively cheap. Additionally, I wanted to install a one-way butterfly baffle to prevent any cold air from coming back into the closet while the AC exhaust wasn't running, which I hadn't done before. And, because I've recently begun to fully appreciate that everything will eventually need to be replaced at some point, I wanted to make the exhaust duct as modular as possible, because connecting flexible ducts to portable AC exhaust hoses, inline fans, and one-way baffles is a time consuming nightmare. So, I added an insulated adhesive gasket between the two pieces of this duct connector, and superglued some screws onto one of the pieces, then used nuts to hold them together. This way, I won't have to tear the whole exhaust duct apart again just to replace one part of it, should something fail again (portable AC, inline fan, baffle, etc.).

Great for Cat Shelter
I decided to try to make some (feral) cat shelters out of used coolers. I bought the 4" and 5 " covers to line the entry/ exit hole. I needed a 6" too, but decided to try something else for the 6" hole. The 4" was really too small for the cats and did not end up using it. I wanted the tube to stick out to help create a bit of a rain barrier. The red Igloo cooler was so thick that the tube was almost flush with the wall, so it didn't matter which way it was installed. I installed it with the flange on the outside to cover the unsightly, rough edges of the hole. The blue Coleman cooler was thin enough to get the tube to stick out a bit. I was hoping this would be a nice tight fit, but it was pretty loose. I didn't want the ugly look of duct tape. I tried some electrical tape around the rim, but it didn't stick. Someone had recommended using calk to seal the hole, but one of the instructional videos said their cats don't like the smell of the calk and won't use the shelters. I really like that this had the screw holes, and I didn't have to worry about messy calk. Low price and screw holes were great for my project.

High quality, well made and finished
This is an excellent choice for an application not needing high heat resistance as it's plastic. The description didn't say it was but the finish looked like black metal. Unfortunately, I need one that can handle high heat so I returned this one and bought a metal one that is not shiny black but it is fine for my use.

The dimensions given in the catalogue don't match the product
The catalogue put the dimensions as: 6 inches. their chart gave 150mm or 5.9 inches. The actual product received is 143mm or 5.625 inches. Worse yet was the flange since I wanted to cover the hole I made in the ceiling for the pipe to go through. Catalogue said the flange would be 230mm or 9 inches. The actual product received is 181mm or 7.125 inches. The numbers for the product received do not match any of the numbers given for other sizes offered. Since their numbers are wack and I was in a hurry, I kept the product and made a board with the proper hole and flange dimensions.
