Q: Can this be installed into a 1.5" schedule 40 ABS pipe? if so, what glue would be used?

Yes, it can be installed on a ABS pipe. We recommend a Multi-Purpose cement for this kind of combination. Please the the documentation of those multi purpose cements also: Apply primer only to PVC material. Do not apply primer on the ABS side of the transition joint.

Q: Do you make these with fip ends? can you update me on the current availability of fip ends on the 1" dual union?

FIP stands for female iron pipe, we don’t do this kind of end connectors for our valves. If you mean a threaded version (NPT) of our PVC end connectors we do have our Kaplan valve available on Amazon as threaded version available: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q2K26NH

Q: Can I use this Union valve for hot and cold application?

Unfortunately schedule 80pvc and glue is only rated to 140F. Cpvc the beige pipe standard and glue is rated to at least 200F. Metal valve is usually better for hot water anyway. More sturdy.

Q: Is the threaded version of this 1 5" valve still sold on Amazon as I dont see it.

Currently the 1.5" Kaplan NPT threaded version is sold out, it will be back in stock early Sept. 2020
