Like new again! Here's how.
If your Washer skips some cycles during wash (like not spin drying, leaving cloths soaked), you may need this kit and the Washer shifter actuator.Unplug and turn off the water, lean washer way back against the wall (get a bucket under the discharge hose). Everything is accessible at this point. Take the large plastic cover that protects the motor and assist coated parts. Take pictures of the old assembly to make sure you get it back together correctly. You will need a hex driver, Phillips screwdriver and needle nose pliers. There is one clip ring that can be removed using the pliers. You will need to remove the shifter (2 screws), replace with new when you reassemble. Remaining parts are straight forward to remove. Make sure you get the two round gears right side up.The whole thing will take 39-40 minutes, faster if you are familiar with washers.Good luck, this kit is great!!!

Kenmore Series 500
Factory part failed. Replaced it with $43 dealer part. Lasted less than a year. Chose this route because of I'm gonna replace it every year, why spend more? This part fit, but had a little drag to it when turning it by hand. I mixed and matched surviving components from the original part. Little struggle to replace because it's under the machine but installation is otherwise easy. For ⅓ the price, I'd buy this again if I needed it.

Fit my Maytag MVWX655DW1 that was making a grinding noise after the spin cycle
The outer collar with the tabs was a tight fit but it worked after some light filing as others have mentioned. The belt was too tight and probably could have stretched it out but the original was fine so I used that. Do get some grease (Sta-Lube CRC SL3330 Moly-Graph Extreme Pressure Multi-Purpose Lithium Grease) and put it on the plastic gears as well as where the 3 tabs lift up onto the plastic. This will make things more smooth and last longer. After the spin cycle there was a horrendous almost grinding noise. The cause more than likely is your shift actuator. You can find the cheap chinese aftermarket ones here on Amazon but at your own risk. Find a used OEM one. They cost the same and will still outlast the cheap chinese made ones. You can tell the difference because the cheap ones have a sticker whereas the OEM ones have the specs printed directly onto the metal housing. If you dismantle the clutch pulley and it looks good then don't bother replacing it but since your underneath there already you might as well replace it if you want. Hold onto the originals for future use if necessary. This clutch pulley kit appears to be pretty solid and hope it lasts. I'll update if anything doesn't last.

The plate will not move up and down as needed. It is stuck in closed position.N
Model W10721967I have done this beforeAfter putting the spring on the clutch plate was so tight it would not move. It must be able to move up and down to engage the washing cycle and these spin cycle. I had to physically pull the clutch back off. The item will not fit correctly.I found the easy way to contact support

I am not a washing machine repair man
I assume the kit was perfect. It looked exactly like what I took out of the washing machine. I replaced everything and it was still doing the same thing. My deduction is I am not an appliance repair man. I'll stick to engines and let someone with more experience mess with it in the future. I just bought a new washer. So, if you know what you're doing, this part is great and fits like OEM. If you're like me, just pay someone and walk away.

Price was good but it didn't work out for me.
I purchased this kit to replace the belt and clutch on my Maytag MVWX550XW1 top load washer. It was very easy to install. Seems that either the spring doesn't have enough to push out the clutch or the clutch itself is a little too small. It kept getting stuck on the shaft each time it would disengage. Thankfully, the old one I had still had some life left in it. I replaced the pulley and the belt with the ones from this kit and now the machine is working great.I must say, the cost of this kit was still cheaper than just buying the belt alone.

fit perfect
for the people that say the belt doesn't fit, it fits fine, i used a screwdriver for leverage while someone spun the drum....like putting a tire on a rim. There were slight differences in the toothed gears compared to the OEM one... This one doesn't seem as "Beefy" but its been on and used quite a few times now and it got rid of that terrible grinding noise
