I broke my ankle and have to be able to stand and turn and pivot in the bathroom and buy my bed from my wheelchair. I nearly sprained my ankle and knee when my shoe stuck to the floor. This pivot disc solved the problem. I'm heavy and it still spins no problem. It's very sturdy and I love it. How did I ever get along without it before? I had something like this when I was a kid. It was called a twister and it was doing the twist to help slim the waistline. When ankle heals up I might try using it as a twister? LOL

This is a good option for patients that require extensive assist for pivot transfers. For the person helping, for this product to safely work, you need to make sure you have good foot placements yourself so as not to interfere the pivot and you both dont lose your balance. One downside is as you lower the patient, there is a tendency for the pivot disc to still move and may cause foot to slide or patient to fall. It helps a lot to plan, make sure the wheelchair/chair and bed are at the recommended angle. This also works for transfers in and out of car.

This is great to help transfering elderly from chair to wheelchair or sitting in the car. My MIL is scared to fall and gives us trouble moving her during transfers. She also cannot move her feet well without assistance. This saves her knees from strain from her trying to turn her body and not feet. It took her a few trys to trust it but her physical therapist showed her correct usage and it has come in so handy. Obviously works better on hard floors than carpet.

It was the second one I ordered. It is a great item but the first broke. A piece snapped off the swivel in the center.

Bought this to use as an aid for transferring my wife who has ALS from the bed to the wheelchair. It works great and is a real back saver. Makes the transfer much safer for her. This device is very stable.

It didn't move smoothly enough and it was hard to convince patient to step on it evenly. Once on he was unsure of it and wanted to step off. After a few more attempts he became scared of it.This product probably works better with someone with much more awareness.

Great product. There was a lot of thought that went into this product so that the person using it will not slip.
