Strong brew is wonderful!
Very happy with 12 cup vortex B&D pot. Was doing French press method. I like that this makes so much more :) Used 3/4 cup Yuban medium roast with the gold filter basket (the 6 - 12 cup Mr. Coffee one). Used strong brew the very 1st time making the coffee in this pot. I was amazed how rich and dark the coffee was! It appears that the water vortex method really does utilize all the coffee. I haven’t used the time set function to have it automatically brew in the morning. I imagine I will get it set up so when fall/winter hits, i will be happy to have my coffee MADE and HOT when I get up in the morning! FYI - my arm is a little slow moving, so I keep a paper towel handy because I don’t tip the pot back fast enough to keep a drip or two from coming after I pour a cup. All the good comments that have been made by others are exactly what I have found to be true. I misplaced my manual so I called Customer Support and they emailed me the manual online, as well mailing me a new manual at no charge. Otherwise, it’s been a an along time since I have had an electric pot, I really like this one! Hope you do as well!

An amazing coffeemaker for the price. Better-designed, even easier to clean
This is a very reasonably priced and attractive coffeemaker that is way better than most in its price range. Your typical affordable coffeepot normally is very basic and always has some drawbacks. The usual worst drawback is that the brew interrupter makes them overflow if the pot isn't perfectly seated. You will NOT have to worry about that with this one; unless the pot is practically falling off the base, it won't overflow. They absolutely fixed that problem. The design of the carafe also lends itself to easier cleaning, with fewer corners for residue to get stuck in and the wider opening making getting inside it easier. It also has a Brew Stronger feature if you want a little extra kick. And then there's the simple fact that it just looks nice and takes up less counter space.Pro's:Brews great coffee.Won't overflow.Easier to clean.Brew Stronger feature.Separate Keep Warm feature from BrewTimer that starts after brewing so you can see how long until auto-shutoff (and thus know how old the coffee is).Cleaning function for more thorough descaling.Smaller counter footprint.Attractive.Con's:The buttons are very difficult to read from most angles.I liked it enough that I bought a second one for my parents, who always just bought cheap coffee pots and then physically removed the brew interrupter. Even they agree it's legitimately better.

Works well but does not turn off after an hour
Straightforward and good for an individual user. So far, it has met my expectations for brewing coffee and I would give it a higher rating, but the product information is not clear. The product information says "the nonstick carafe plate keeps coffee warm for an hour after brewing is complete". That led me to believe it turns off after an hour; however, the unit stays on until you turn off the switch. It DOES NOT turn off after an hour. The product information on Amazon needs to be more accurate. I can't discern that anything happens after an hour....other than the unit stays on.

Just basic, gets the job done.
I am not a coffee conneseur. I drink one cup per day...the pot says 5 cups, but it fills my mug once. The coffee is consistant, strong and hot. I have not timed the brew cycle, I would guess 5 minutes or so.The hot plate keeps the coffee hot even if I do not empty the pot right away. The only detail that it lacks is a valve on the basket that prevents the coffee from dripping out when the pot is removed if the basket has not had a chance to drain completely. This will sometimes drip coffee on the hot plate. Not a deal breaker, just something to be aware of.

Good first coffee maker
This is my first coffee maker and it's good as far as I can tell. I only used instant coffee before this so the leveling up of my coffee game has been significant with this coffee maker. If you have it on for too long after you brew your coffee it will start to make this clicking noise. That can be kind of irritating but if you turn it off then obviously it doesn't make that noise anymore. It holds plenty of water for at least four cups of 20 oz cups of coffee ( I have a caffeine problem).

Good product for a decent price.
Good, simple coffee maker without all the crappy, non-working- 'bells 'n whistles'. Just pour in the water and if you pour in 12 cups of water, you get 12 cups of coffee. It doesn't overflow if you pour in just a wee bit too much water. Only not so great thing is, it can be fussy to pour in the water due to the way the top is made...no big deal; it works great.

Generally pleased with product with one caveat
The coffee maker brews product in decent time. However, when trying to brew larger amounts, say about 5 tablespoons in the filter, it does overflow and grounds will end up in the coffee. I have had better results when using brown filters in contrast to white (and I do tend to use generic, but they never gave problems in the Mr Coffee machine I had before). I purchased this maker because it didn't have all the electronic features others have, and time will tell if the product lasts longer because of it.

Good coffee maker for the money
Good little coffee pot for my needs. I read some reviews that the coffee isn’t hot enough and I will admit that it is colder than my previous one but I like the temp. I measured it at 166 deg F for anyone interested. The main thing I don’t like is that the power button is on the side making it harder to see if I’ve left it on. Not a big deal, but my previous one had it right in front center. The power button is also hard to press. The whole maker slides across the counter when I try to do it one-handed. I used to have my coffee in one hand and turned off the maker with the other. Just an annoyance I’ll have to adjust to. Unless you like your coffee really hot, I would still recommend it to someone looking for one. It’s a simple one that does the job.
