My 1/3 HP fan motor died and I replaced it with a similar motor and a new fan blade that I had destroyed removing it from the old motor. The new motor overheated and died after a few weeks so I upgraded to this figuring the new fan was causing the problem. It’s been working flawlessly with no overheating.

As with many "universal" products, I was a little skeptical at first, but this one arrived as advertised and suited my needs. Installation was reasonably easy, but mechanical and electrical skills are a must. I had to purchase a different capacitor as the value required (10uf) is different than the one for the motor I replaced. Assuming this will be installed outdoors, the wiring needs to have a drip-loop to prevent excessive water entry into the housing. This is not covered in the instructions. Some accessories that may be required are a fan hub puller and a hack saw. As a universal replacement, the motor shaft is rather long and may need to be cut to length.

I purchased this fan 13 months ago and was writing a review about two days ago after the fan stopped working. I have realized that I never posted review prior. I was upset that it only lasted 13 months however I was wrong and the fan is still working. The issue that I had is that the capacitor had gone bad, so for now it's been running since last summer so that's a good six months of one time in the past two years of heat. It's still quiet so for the price the quick shipping and the longevity I feel it was worth the money which was priced at $125.00 when purchased.

Easy to replace. It includes wiring to reverse direction which I thought was a great idea. I had to grind off the legs to fit my particular unit, but I appreciate that they were there. It works great and the AC is running again.
