Jennifer Love Hewitt, Brandy, Freddie Prinze, Jr., and Mekhi Phifer star in the screamer sequel to the blood-chilling box office hit, "I Know What You Did Last Summer," as the slicker-clad killer with a hook in his hand returns for another season of bloody revenge.

2000's Teen Slasher Classic
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer is the follow up to the hit teen slasher success, I Know What You Did Last Summer. This is the movies 25th Anniversaries and they are brought back in glorious 4k and standard Blu-Ray. Both films come with a special slip cover (I Know What You Did Last Summer is separately) to commemorate the 25 years. There really isn't anything new in bonus features, which is a sad because interviews and such would have been fun (especially with Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr. and others). This is a huge miss for the films. They could have even done a commentary or a classic behind the scenes featurette of Jennifer Love Hewitt's Music Video "How Do I Deal". I'm even sure Brandy would have been willing to join in about the movie.I Still Know What You Did Last Summer picks up a year to a couple years later after the events of the first film. Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is now in college and Ray (Freddie Prinze Jr.) stayed in their old town. When Julie and her roommate (Brandy) answer a question correctly from a radio show, they are given a prize of a trip to the Bahamas. When they arrive on the off-season, something doesn't seem right and people start going missing. Julie believes it's the Fisherman, Ben Willis but nobody believes her, until a man in a slick raincoat shows up with a hook in his hand. Could Ben Willis still be alive or is this a new killer trying to be the Ben Willis?***SPOILERS*** (Avoid this part of the review, if you don't want spoilers). Going based off my memory of the film (which I haven't watched for quite a few years), I remember finding this one a little boring. When I was a kid and saw it with my Sister and Brother in theaters, I can remember not really understanding the film and being totally bored. The end of the last film looked way more interesting than what came to be in this film. But years later, the film has gotten a little more appreciation from me. Don't get me wrong, this film isn't as great as the first one but it's still a fun ride. Going to a different setting like the Bahamas felt like it cop-out to get the characters out of the original town (which they already did by sending Julie to College). I wasn't crazy about the cast of characters. The bartender annoyed me the most besides the owner of the island. Jack Black's character wasn't even enough to save the movie, and this is a sad role for Jack Black as he is a good comedian and a fun actor. I would think for college kids, they would know what is the capital of Rio is and not get the question wrong relying on a bag of coffee for the answer, but I guess anyway to set it up. Being on an empty island is what makes the film not so great in my opinion, I think if we had more people on the island and had a higher body count, the film might have been more interesting. The positive things about the film is the original 3 characters came back from the first film, they didn't have to recast or cut off a character. When you put on the film, you know that you're in for a ride in this teen slasher. Finally, this is the last true sequel to the series, which is sad because I feel there should have been a third film giving the end of the second film, where Julie is dragged under the bed. I would hope that they would come back in someway to create a third film (Notice I'm ignoring the trash film of "I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer"), in this era of bringing back classic horror characters 20+ some years later.Overall the film is what it is and we can accept this as a sequel (Not I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer). In conclusion of my review, this is a must have for your 4k/Blu-Ray collection of the 25th anniversary. Hopefully by the 30th anniversary, we can get some new bonus features. This classic gets a 5 out of 5 from me.

Not as good as the first one, but not bad if formulaic slasher thriller
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998), American slasher film sequel to I Know What You Did Last Number. Takes place one year after the first movie and two of the cast of the first film return, Julie James (played by Jennifer Love Hewitt, still the lead in the film) and Ray Bronson (played by Freddie Prize Jr.). Two new characters are Julie’s friend and roommate Karla Wilson (played by Brandy) and Karla’s boyfriend Tyrell Martin (played by Mekhi Phifer). In the opening scenes, most of the main characters are college students, with a somewhat estranged long-distance relationship existing between Julie and Ray (Ray having stayed in the small town from the first movie, with his job as fisherman), with Karla’s and Julie’s friend Will Benson (played by Matthew Settle) seeming to have an interest in Julie (encouraged by both Karla and Tyrell).Karla gets a call from a radio station, answers a trivia question correctly (?), and wins a trip for four to the Bahamas. Soon Julie, Karla, Tyrell, and Will are off to a resort island, with unbeknownst to them, Ray and his buddy Dave off to surprise Julie but missing them because among other things, apparently the vengeful fishermen Ben Willis (Muse Watson) from the first movie is still alive and tries to kill Dave and Ray.What follows is the four “enjoying” their time on the resort island, one conventionally cut off from the outside world, run by a skeleton crew of staff members (and the four the only guests), the four friends at first unhappy because of the dreary resort, bad weather, and unfriendly staff, but soon plagued by taunts from Ben who still, as the title suggests, knows what Julie did last summer. Meanwhile Ray tries to get to the island, quite well aware with Ben back to his hook-murderin’ ways, Julie and her friends (and really anyone near them) is in mortal danger.I think the hook (ha!) of the first movie, the pact of the four friends, being really no longer quite as relevant or as central to the story, as well as the half-hearted “ok?” responses when Julie tells her tale of what they did that summer, and the up in gore and body count in the film, really make this a pretty basic slasher horror-thriller at this point. Ben is the vengeful fishermen, whose face you don’t see, wearing the fisherman’s rain slicker outfit, kills people with a hook, that’s his thing. The movie goes all in for jump scares, dread, and horror, though also leaves one scratching their head at the amazing abilities of Ben to be wherever he needed to be to serve the plot and his willingness to kill lots and lots of people who have no idea who he is before he turns his attention on basically one person and her friends. Seriously, spoilers, but Ben kills just about everyone who has anything at all to do with Julie. If you deal with Julie at all, such as say being her bartender or checking her in at the hotel, be prepared to die. There is a nice little cast of people on the island, including Jeffrey Combs as Mr. Brooks, the hotel manager (of Star Trek: Enterprise fame, seriously underused in the movie), Bill Cobbs as Estes (some sort of groundskeeper I guess with a voodoo connection going on, another underused actor with a sadly to me underdeveloped plotline), and Jack Black as Titus Telesco (with Jack Black basically being Jack Black, wow he looks young). I liked the creepy hotel and the five main cast members do a good job. I think Ray is away from the main group for entirely too much of the movie though. There were some good scares and some good action sequences. Didn’t care a lot for the ending and from what I read afterwards, I don’t know if we will ever know what happened next, as apparently the third movie in the series is only very loosely connected to the first two movies.

OK Movie, Looks Good for its Age in 4K
This is not the best movie by any means. The original is far better but its still fun to see Jennifer and Freddie return in their respective roles. The disc itself is fine, the quality is improved with the 4K and sounds great.

Excellent 4K Transfer! Great slasher movie!
This review is for the recent 4K release. The picture really stands out with the 4K transfer. I noticed certain details of the movie that I have never noticed before. The sound is also outstanding. The movie itself has always been a favorite of mine. It gets alot of hate but I think it is a fantastic follow up to I Know What You Did Last Summer. I would highly recommend upgrading to the 4K (if you have a 4K player). It is well worth the money. Excellent title to get for the upcoming Halloween season.
