Do they slide easily on wood tables?

I wouldn't say easily. They are not as slippery as a lot of mats can be because they are thicker and more durable, but they are made out of corkboard so they don't grip the table or anything. I would say, if you knock it accidentally (and somewhat forcefully of course), it will move, but it won't go flying across the table.

I understand you shouldn't place hot objects on them. That means not even a bowl with hot soup, or just oven-hot pots? Thank you.

I have them for about 6 mon. now on my island.I do put hot soup bowls and hot dinner plates on them they stay nice.cleans easy also.Do not put hot pots and pans on them because the top coating will melt.

Are these stiff placemats or are they flexible?
