Broke after 3 uses
I bought this torch for the occasional creme brulee. Its basically been sitting in my drawer, I think I've used it 2-3 times. Pulled it out recently and couldn't get it lit. Decided to add more butane and once I did I could hear and see fuel leaking out the the power knob and it no longer lights

High quality butane torch does not disappoint
I have been using this torch for about two months and had no issues. It came with a little tip-like accessory which puzzled me at first, then I figured out that you can use it to extend the fill tips of butane cans. (Some cans have a shorter tip, which makes it harder to fill lighters where the fill spot is flat with the bottom.) Turns out my butane can also needed this piece, so it was a nice touch to have it at hand right away. The torch fills up quickly and does not waste fuel. It doesn't leak and the flame is very adjustable. You can almost fine-tune the flame with the rotary knob and this allows you to have good control over it. The torch worked great on my daughter's crème brûlée, and for marking steaks. However, I think I can also find a couple of good uses for it in my garage as well.Overall, this torch did not disappoint. Highly recommended...

Eh...
Only way to turn it off is by turning the dial. There is no striker switch

Didn't like the controls
Had to turn the knob for on and off, for me the ones with the trigger are better

Strong Flame But No Precision Adjustment
The media could not be loaded. I grill indoors. I prepare sushi and sashimi. I use a kitchen torch to sear tuna and for making creme brulee dessert. You never know when the piezo igniter of the torch will die so better have a spare. This torch is from a well-known brand so decided to buy it.The set has the torch, a small instruction manual, and a small black plastic for letting the butane escape. For safety, you need to let the butane out if you need to store it for a long time. Please watch the video I posted to get more information on how to operate this kitchen device. Let me know if it helps. The torch has a protective flame guard and a red gas regulator at the back. This torch can generate a powerful flame but has a hard time producing a smaller flame output for the precise searing of tuna or a smaller creme brulee. This cannot be operated one-handed, unlike my current kitchen torch. The trigger is just for igniting the torch and will not turn on/off the flame. You have to use the red gas regulator for that. Please see the video I posted. This kitchen torch looks more elegant and solid but for me, it is the functionality that is more important. Steak lovers will like this torch since it can create a powerful flame. Sushi/Sashimi lovers will hate this for not being able to precisely control the flame output. I am at the latter camp so this torch will just be a backup. This is a good torch but it depends on what you want it for.

Absolute flamethrower!
This torch can throw a lot of heat! I got it to use with resin casting for bubble removal and it performs very well. It does use a LOT of gas, though. Make sure to point it away from anything when you spark it the first time since the flame will likely be longer than you expect. The control knob on the back easily adjusts this from about a 10 inch flame down to almost a soft flame (like a cigarette lighter). It is easy to hold and use with control once you practice a little. My application mostly has me swiping the flame quickly around a freshly poured resin piece and I never felt like I was not in control. I don't really do much in the kitchen that needs a torch, but I imagine this would work great for its intended purpose. Impressive!

Nicely made
This has so many more uses than just in the kitchen. How many times have you been frustrated with those torches that have a saftey that you spend more time trying to figure out than actually using the touch? This touch does have a safety, but one that actually makes sense! You can turn it off when you're ready to use it, and it will stay off until your ready to store it again. The flame is adjustable, and will give you a nice steady burn. We use it in the kitchen, as well as for getting bubbles out of our epoxy projects and it works great!
