Grade A Barred Turkey Smudging Feather (no stains, cuts, pieces missing)

My feather came very light coloured rather than dark but all around, it's a pretty good feather. It's not a painted feather so make sure you understand when purchasing this is a fragile feather. I use mine for my cowboy hat and it's done well rain and shine

I read the reviews on how it was mishappened or not as pictured etc. But I took them with a grain of salt as we are dealing with nature. I did get it a bit warped. I simply boiled water in a pot and held it in the steam and reshaped it. (tip-add cinnamon to the water as it boils so it scents the house while reshaping the feather) I dinged this one star as I was hoping it would be larger and fuller once reshaped by the steam. I would definitely change that picture in the listing to a more realistic one so people don't expect that gorgeous specimen pictured.

I can understand how some would complain this is made out of plastic. Smell the feathers and to me it doesn't smell like a turkey. Go and find a feather around and smell it - it has a different smell. Yes, it's plastic but this isn't to say it's worthless. This review is to say it does what it's suppose to do; fan out the sage smoke around the room. Perhaps too much hype on the title to get the product to sell, but again it functions as it suppose to. It won't even matter if you had a Chinese fan - because it would do the same function - fan out the sage smoke.The feather is good, it works as it's suppose to. If you are unhappy, but means you can either create a paper fan, buy a Chinese fan, pluck a turkey feather or find any other alternative solutions. I personally didn't care if it was a real feather or not - if it was real, my cats would've been locked on to the scent and shredded it apart. I carried it in front of them and they didn't even know what it was. Was I bothered? Nope, just accepted it as a hyped product and still was glad I purchased it.So, you can buy this - just keep in mind you get what you get. :)

Another reviewer commented that this thing is fake. The feather I got is in no way fake. This is the real deal. Depending on who you talk to about smudging, a feather is optional. If you are going to use one however, use a natural one. If you live in an area where feathers are hard to come by, then this is a great deal. Just keep it away from cats.I will second what another reviewer indicated that the feather itself is not well packaged. Probably the only reason mine held up is that it shipped with other items and there were enough air pillows to keep it from getting messed up. If this was sent in some type of mailer envelope, it would have gotten destroyed.

DO NOT BUY!!!!! this is garbage!! Feathers are twisted, frayed,bent, broken, skippy. These feathers are in such poor condition the bird no longer could use them either... even if it where in tact ..it is in NOT a grade A feather!! Absolutely useless if your looking to smudge with it. Highly disappointed...your better of hiking and searching your yard for feathers gifted to you from the wild. Seriously don't waste you $9.00... search other retailers and feathers providers...I made the mistake of purchasing before reading the reviews.. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT AGAIN NOR RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERS..... run buyer run!!
