Q: Hi is this food hard plastic or rubber?

I am not exactly sure if the material is rubber or plastic, but the food is flexible, meaning the lettuce and peppers are bendable. The other pieces don't have that bend in them. The set is durable and does NOT look like that cheap play food. I purchased this set along with other sets and I am completely satisfied with the quality, texture, and color of the foods. I have a home daycare and clean the food regularly and it cleans up very well. My daycare kids love this set and so do I

I don't know if this toy is BPA free - sorry! What I CAN tell you is that this toy is well made, realistic and a top favorite of my 8 grandkids (ages 20 months to 8 years). "Making salad" is their first activity whenever they enter the play room at our house. I actually bought 2 additional sets so the kids could make salads at home.
