Like it!
I use this as one of three books in my social justice class. I enjoy the way the writer breaks down the material- it seems to really help the students with the concepts in the book. It also offers great activities and exercises the students seem to be participating in on their own time.

Riveting and Controversial
This text promotes transformative learning through self-examination of individual maladaptive thinking. I highly recommend this text to anyone lacking cultural sensitivity and awareness.

Imperative for any counselor that wishes to be ethical and competent.
Heesoon Jun helps counselors who wish to become competent practitioners begin the process of mindfulness and self-awareness in order to become familiar with their unconscious beliefs and biases that will be projected onto clients in the form of countertransference. Her book explains how a transformative learning experience must take place to shift one's thinking from western dichotomous, hierarchical, linear, ethnocentric patterns to multi-layered, multidimensional, dynamic and holistic thinking patterns to be a multiculturally competent and empathic practitioner. This book is easy to read and is an absolute must for anyone seeking to being in a human services career, not just counselors.

Excellent for understanding Human Diversity
It is a very complete treatment of the subject, going beyond cultural diversity and clearly makes the case of Human diversity. The english is at a level that students with other languages as their first language can comprehend it.

Most of the content is quite vague, I'm afraid.
