Cherry pitter works great!
I would buy this again and recommend it to my friends. My husband was excited to learn of this device that helps us easily eat cherries without pits rather than letting them sit and mold due to difficult processing. Putting it together was easy using the directions. Cleanup was amazingly easy, I just rinsed it all off under the faucet, don’t forget to push the pitter down to rinse both ends of it.One word of caution, if you are using larger cherries, it might miss the pit sometimes but it does a great job overall. You could help this by checking the placement of the cherry to the pitter. But really it is easy to use and worth it. We did almost 5 pounds of cherries in less than 20 minutes. I couldn’t keep my husband from eating them as fast as we processed them:)Be aware that it also leaked luscious juice down the side where the gasket is inserted. I just placed a plate underneath it because the fruit was very juicy. After researching other pitters, I would choose this one again. It’s delivery date was faster than most others and it’s made in Taiwan which pleased me.

Works great
I have a single litter, but during pie cherry season I can go through gallons of cherries in a day. One at a time got to be old. I ordered this hoping it would make it easier. This is great! I ran through 20 pounds of cherries before I knew what happened! I’m so pleased. I haven’t encountered any missed pits, but occasionally One would get stuck in the machinery. But, it happened infrequently and the speed and ease of using this totally outweighed any annoyance with a stuck pit in the works. I definitely recommend it. I’ve also used it for the occasional bag of sweet cherries for eating out of hand. Oh, and it’s fun to use!

Great Tool
I have trees in my yard that bear small (~1 inch in diameter) plums and every year I struggle to crush and pit them (I make wine from them). I bought this as an experiment and it's about the most efficient way I've found to remove the pits from my plums. It's definitely better than doing them by hand with a knife and faster than crushing the fruit first and then removing the pits from the meat.I was a little surprised to find that it was kind of messy, although I probably should have expected that. There were fruit guts in an area of about 18 inches around the machine when I was done, including my clothing. I can't ding the machine for that because this is an inherently messy task. I mention it only so that potential users are prepared. :-)It didn't work well with the pits from some of the larger fruit (1-1/4" in diameter or so) - the pits got stuck in the hole that they are pushed though and I had to stop and either punch them through from the backside or pry them out to remove the obstruction and continue with the pitting. That didn't happen very often and was not a huge nuisance. The machine does have lots of nooks and crannies that are difficult to get clean, and it seemed like every time I cleaned one place I saw another that had fruit guts on it. It was also difficult to ensure that all the residue was rinsed out since the machine can't easily be disassembled once it's been used.Overall I have to say it's a big improvement over the way I was doing the pitting and it does work for 99% of the fruit I have, so I give it 5 stars with one deducted for being hard to clean.

Works well for our purposes
Our farm has a few producing cherry trees the harvest of which we can into pie fillings and jam for personal use. Ordered this in hopes of finding a better pitter for volume work. The machine is not perfect but it does work the best of several multi cherry machines we’ve tried. Putting aside some minor quibbles, we’re giving it 5 stars for the moment and hope it holds up in the future.

Cherry Pitter
Works okay. The base suction does not work on mine. I also have to manually move the cherries to the pitting hole. It's still better & easier than the hand pitter I was previously using.

So Fast!
I liked the ease and speed of the pitting process. A couple of cherries got stuck on the plunger, very easy to flick them off. No pits remained in the bowlful that I tried. My only "ding" was for the assembly, which took 2 people to do (1 to hold the spring out of the way while the other person screwed on the knob). Same issue had to be dealt with after cleaning. Maybe that'll get easier with time. Definitely recommend!

wife loves it
This mechanism, whichpits only one cherry a time but automatically feeds the next, works better than the type that pits several but has multiple slots that have to be individually loaded each time.
