Emile Henry makes wonderful baking dishes, and this French company has a long history of producing quality baking dishes from clay. This pie plate is no exception. Not only is it lovely to look at, but using it will leave you with a pie that looks like you are a trained baker, even if you are not. The clay the company uses heats evenly. When you are done the dish is easy to clean up as nothing really sticks to it. The pie dish does not really get scratched, so it looks like new after it is washed.I have another Emile Henry pie plate in a different style in that sides are scalloped. It bakes a great pie, but you can not get a slice out of the pie plate in one piece because the scallop shape does not allow you to get a pie server underneath without breaking that beautiful scalloped side crust into pieces in the process. This style pie plate is a big improvement in how your pie will look when serving it.The actual pie dish is quite deep, so you can use this pie plate not only for desserts, but to make things like chicken pot pie, or any recipe that calls for deep dish pie plate. Emile Henry claims the pie dish can go from freezer to oven with no problem - I can not speak for that, as I have never used it that way.I will say they can chip, as any pottery piece can do, so you do want to be careful with it, as it is a bit more expensive than many other pie plates. But all around, this is a great pie dish, and it comes in a lot of different colors, so you should be able to find one that you like. Highly recommend.

We have had this brand in the past. The only reason to buy another is that me; Mr. fumblefingers dropped our other one. It is cracked but still bakes as it should I just purchased this one as a back up and extra. I recommend this brand as we have other Emil Henry products that have lasted, clean easily and are lovely to look at.

I will have to come back and write a review. I bought this and then we moved. It is still packed as we are doing a major kitchen remodel. It looks like it should work very well. It certainly is pretty.

A quality pie dish! Excellent for deep dish apple pies! Excellent quality and lovely to look at. Nice weight-not heavy or too light. Quality craftsmanship. Pie bakes evenly. Worth the price! I plan to purchase another for the holidays.

This pan bakes the best pies, and I will try it on other baked goods next. It has even heating and no stick! I don't know why I waited so long to purchase this.

Functional, deep pie dish but the blue color is a dark navy rather than the blue in advertisement pics. Mine almost looks black unless I hold it up to the light. Works great and still lovely so I will keep it, but was a little bummer about color difference.

It is the perfect dish for pies. It is made in France of highest quality. My pie came out perfect. Very pleased with my purchase.

Nice pie dish. Something a little different from the usual clear glass. Nice vibrant colors. Just be aware that the sides are a bit high, so it may cause your pies to look like the crust sank. I have this and the red version. Great dish makes a nice presentation.
