I don't typically write reviews, but I had to for this item because I wanted other small pet owners to know that these cardboard folders work great for hamsters and other rodents that like to burrow/hide--just lay the folder on its side. I like these better than wood folders because they can be disposed of after they have been soiled on/get worn out. Plus, you get an 8 pack with these, so it's 8 toys/hideaways for the price of one, really. I also like that these are Kraft cardboard, so it's safe for hamsters to chew. Also, there is no inks/stickers on the time (stickers are included separately). I have a 40 gallon tank for my Syrian hamster. She is quite large and fits nicely in and out of these when I lay the folder down on its side. I put her food and water on top and bedding inside, and she loves it. Fun/safe small pet toy!

You get what you pay for but it serves its purpose. Be sure to fold the bottom exactly how you see in the pictures (don't bend the cardboard tabs a little like I did) so that it stays flat.

....and those directions are NOT included with the file holders <sigh>. BUT, assembly directions are illustrated on the product description page on Amazon (in one of those small photos on the left side of the page). If you follow the directions, it won't be necessary to use tape to keep the bottom nicely closed. So, why not include the directions with the product? Ah...that's above my pay grade! :-) BTW, the folders are not heavy duty, but they are fine for the price.

I would write the product description as, "You get what you pay for. Good quality cardboard that can take regular use without crushing. Good size storage to fit on shelves. Good looking with or without a little washi tape, initial stickers , etc. decoration added. Will hold moderate amount of paper items BUT when filled, the bottom WILL fall out. Use duck or good quality plastic, tape to reinforce the bottom and you won't be disappointed (or surprised that you'll be picking up papers that dropped all over the floor). I like them. I use them with 'personal reinforcement."
