Creature Comforts: Complete Series 1 [DVD]

Remember seeing these on TV back in the day nice to re-visit them

My Wife and I love this program and the various sketches are hilarious. There are no favourites for us as they are all equally funny. What makes this special is the amount of effort that has been put in by the makers of the series.The voices of the general public used in the show match the characters portrayed. I could ramble on but all i will say that it is worth watching.

Interesting and fun

Don't be misled by the genre. This one's not for kids. There's nothing profane or wholesome, just that its main appeal is recognition of the poignant, the sad, the funny, the experience of life. And I think you'd have to l an adult to appreciate it.The animation is superb, bringing a huge amount of character to the voices. And you'll be able to understand them fine, they're just normal regional UK accents.Great to dip into a couple of episodes at a time when you want to experience a short snapshot of someone else's life.

In the English eccentric tradition from the stable of Wallace and grommet these are animations of real life recorded dialogue. The animal characters avoid being cute, only just ,and sometimes become sharp representations of our own failures and conceits. The selected dialogue is sometimes hilarious and sometimes wistful, really cleverly put together. It is almost an animated version of Alan Bennett's Talking Heads, and equally endearing.

We watched a very interesting documentary on the making of Creature Comforts & decided to buy this dvd. It was so much fun to watch & cheered us up during lockdown.

Had this on VHS as a kid, loved it when it was on telly too. Came in top condition.
