Beautiful art direction combined with excellent game play!High quality components which are illustrated and designed gorgeously. Box insert would be nice, but what games wouldn't. Ziploks for pieces are included, which is pretty standard.Game play features include modular board layout, resource production, card drafting, set collection, variable turn order, worker placement, some quasi-cooperative elements, and more. The rules seem overwhelming at first, but once you start actually playing it's fairly straightforward and flows very nicely. On a scale of 1-5, I give Merv a score of 2.8 in terms of rules complexity.The rule book is decent and gets it mostly right, but it is a little vague about a couple of things that required looking up errata documents. That certainly isn't a deal breaker for me as I don't mind doing so, but newer gamers may get tripped up by such minutia.Overall, my family and I are thoroughly enjoying this game, and we look forward to playing it many times over the years to come. Personally, I give Merv: Heart of the Silk Road a perfect score (10/10) despite the minor shortcomings I cited above because it's so dang fun! Every Euro style board game enthusiast should have a copy of this in their collection.

Game length is great (less than 3 hours for 3 players, whichbis good considering it was our first time playing so were still grasping many rules and mechanics.Artwork is amazing, as is components material quality.It should have a 1-pager player-aid summay to check easily during gameplay

We bought this game for Christmas and have really enjoyed it. It was kind of complicated to learn but once we figured out how to play, we love it. The instructions were quite good and the “how to play Merv YouTube video cleared up any lingering questions. Would buy again!
