13 months later...UPDATE
Here I am... over a year later and the feeder is still operating well even out in the FL sun and rain (still keeping the cover over the hopper.) Also, my mind has not changed as to the integrity of CNZ Lighting ... they stand behind what they sell. How wonderful which is what makes them a Superior Seller! My review below was absolutely correct - HOWEVER - the seller, CNZ Lighting, was magnificent in their response! By the time I discovered the deficiencies the feeder was outside the 30 day Amazon return window, the seller however, when contacted, offered WITHOUT HESITAION to send a brand new one to replace it!! WOW. I did out of an abundance of caution, re-seal the offending seam and there is a cover over the hopper - but I am happy to say all is working well & the fish are fat & sassy. Thanks CNZ Lighting!***************What a disappointment. Falsely advertised as 8.5 Liters - it at best 5.5 L. I finally figured out how to program it - let it run for over a week to make sure it was going to do the job & then went out of town for 3 weeks... family members stopped by to add food. Everything fine till it rained - when I got home food was wet, rotting, stinking & full of maggots in the bottom... top food was dry??? Why? Because where the clear top met the bottom of the hopper there was no/or seal never applied in about 6 inches in front - so it leaked into hopper middle and ran down into bottom of hopper into the auger and delivery tube... I cannot tell you how disgusting it was. Not to mention we all thought the fish were getting fed - we have no idea how long they went without food. The thing was plugged up long enough fly eggs to hatch into maggots inside the feeder tube/auger.

Great Feeder but
The feeder itself is great. However, the timer sucks. The feed cycle is permanently set to 35 seconds and can be set to multiple cycles per feeding. One cycle dumps a ton of food. We have a 1500 gal Koi pond with 4 very large Koi and 4 very small Koi. The amount of food in one cycle is way more than they can eat and the excess went into the skimmer. I bought a new timer from Super Feeder, model ACDT-20 that has the ability to set the feed cycle in increments of seconds. I already had a 120v ac input 12v dc output transformer to replace the supplied transformer. I removed the cover from the supplied timer and cut the wire from the timer board that went to the feeder's motor. I spliced this wire to one end of a section of wire that I cut from the supplied wire. I then spliced the other end of the wire to the replacement transformer. Note: The wire on my transformer was too short to reach from the new timer to the feeder so I had to lengthen by splicing in a section. If my transformer had not been sealed, I would have used the entire supplied wire and connected directly to the transformer.

How long it will last
I give it 4 star , the key is how long it will operate, the last one I had , I only used it 4 weeks a year while I was on vacation to feed my koi , I had it 3 years . Then it quit, yes I put in new batteries ,that’s why I purchased this one , it doesn’t use batteries I hope it will out last the last one I had it’s was stored inside a dry storage cabinet till i used it , then it wouldn’t work , too bad they don’t ask for a review every 12 months after you purchase a product,

The instructions are difficult to follow.
The item is very well made. Large and durable and holds ample fish food. The unit comes with two augers but does not explain which is used for large or small amounts of food for each feeding cycle. I could not reset the unit from the factory settings. I use the unit when going on vacation to feed the fish in my yard pond.

Great concept - but bad design
I was excited to have an automatic fish feeder so I wouldn't have to take the daily trek down to the koi pond. Works initially, but condensation/dew seeps up into the unit and saturates the koi pellets. Eventually the dispenser got mudded up with wet food and burned out the motor. Going to contact the manufacturer to see if they have a solution. . . Contacted Jeboa by email and never got a response. The motor unit on the feeder is dead after a few months of use.
