A++ Super strong and easy to use!
Great quality product for the price and durability is unmatched! Super strong stapler with the larger 3/8" staples for 30+ sheets of paper. Have not had any stuck staples nor any mis-stapled sheets. Zero jams and it is a monster!

Great stapler
Have been wanting a heaven duty stapler for years and after reading reviews I decided on the Swingline. Worked exactly as described. I used it on about 50 sheets at first and they were stapler perfectly. It doesn't say but it comes with 500 staples. Would recommend this product.

Staples Our Mail-Order Food Packets Perfectly - But It Is LARGE
Our Mail-Order Prepared Meal company decided to push off the work of gathering the three packets that constitute a meal on to us customers. The food is exceptional and not found elsewhere, so we are stuck. What has this got to do with a stapler? Well, our very ergonomically small and perfect Swingline uses standard staples that have 1/4 inch 'legs', and while they punch through the six cardboard layers plus plastic that make up a meal 'package', they do not 'clasp' the packages securely - and you need to really bear down to even get the staples to have *any* 'grab'.So we got this monster of a stapler - compared with our 5-inch long 2-inch high Swingline that uses standard 1/4-inch long staple legs - and will need to find an out-of-the-way drawer or cabinet to stick it in when not in use. 'Ergonomically' it requires little effort to staple our meal packages together, and it does that very well. The only 'Con' we see is its large size - it stands over four inches tall and is around 10 inches long. But it gets the job done.Others may want to be aware of this interesting [to us] tidbit . . .The 3/8 inch leg staples that it uses - and it comes with a box of 500 of these staples, so we probably did not need to buy the tin of several thousand staples - have an interesting 'clasping' pattern to accommodate the 3/8 inch long staple 'legs'. Because the staple 'head' is only 1/2 inch long - the 'standard' staple 'legs' are 1/4 inch long - if you only staple a few pages, when the stapler 'clasps' the legs, the 1/4 inch legs fold into a 1/2 inch pattern that lines up with the 1/2 inch 'head'. With that understanding, when *this* stapler 'clasps' the 3/8 inch long staple legs, the legs would 'overlap' by 1/8 inch if only a few pages get stapled together. So the Swingline folks designed this stapler so that the 'clasping' mechanism 'clasps' the legs at a 5 or 10-degree offset angle so that the 'folded' legs are offset from each other and do not 'stack up' on each other. You probably have to see it to get the full picture.I don't know if this is peculiar to Swingline - maybe all 3/8 inch leg-length staplers do this.So back to the 'Review' . . . If you need to staple through something that is thicker than around 1/8 inch - half the 'standard' staple 1/4 inch 'leg' length - then this stapler will definitely do the job. If you need it to also be 'storable' in your slide-open kitchen drawers, then you may not be totally happy with this 4-inch high by 10-inch long stapler.

Best stapler ever!
As a CPA for more than 50 years, this is hands down the best stapler ever. It can be used for a few pages or lots and lots of pages. Thin wire staples work for lots of pages without damaging the pages even when removing the staple. Stick to the staples made for it by the same manufacturer.

Large and in Charge
In my line of work (finance) the entire industry seems to revolve around killing trees. From the enhanced amount of regulatory requirements, to the fact that everything we show people is on charts and graphs, it all generates large stacks of paperwork. In this world, I do a lot of stapling. I then transport said stapled materials with other stacks of paper. Then they get filed for, apparently, eternity with all of their friends.Point being... staplers are oddly something that I have become very aware of and are extremely important to my sanity. In an effort to find a stapler that could handle large stacks of paper, bend the staples to where they wouldn't catch on other paper, not jam, and be easy to refill; I came across the Swingline Optima 70.One Word Review: "Success"Pros:- It can staple 70 sheets without breaking a sweat.- Has a nice, professional look to it.- The novel base-plate bends the staples in a way that smooths things out quite nicely on the back of the paper. This occurs with 5 sheets or 50 sheets.- I could not make it jam. (I stomped on the top lever with my foot, hard and fast, and it didn't phase it - not recommended)Cons:- This thing is huge. I mean it is a Godzilla stapler. It is almost intimidating. I feel like I am compensating for something.- A mix of high quality materials and cheap plastic worry me about long term durability.- Loud. (It is assisted after all)Detailed Review:It really does everything that it is advertised to do. I have no worries that I will have a job that it can't handle. The black areas on the stapler are rubberized and feel good to the touch. The Swingline emblem is cheap plastic and I am suspicious that it might "flake" one day in the future. I have had no problems with the stapler slide release button or loading staples (USE OPTIMA HIGH CAPACITY STAPLES - they are cost effective and work great). The silver areas are also plastic, although it doesn't both me as much as the orange base. The orange base is made of a cheaper plastic and you can really "see" that as opposed to the silver area. I think they did this to reduce the overall weight of the stapler, given its size. As to the size, I have no idea why it needed to be this large. From a design perspective it isn't ergonomically necessary to be that large.I deducted one star for the cheap materials. Otherwise it is a wonderfully performing product. However, if you don't need to routinely staple documents of over 40 pages... then get the smaller Swingline Optima 40.
