Drastically reduce the use of Claritin. It,s not quiet and its filter sensor is pretty useless
I had the unit for three months and so far it works.ProsUnlike my other older Honeywell, it,s packaged styro free...thank you Honeywell. It, s no frill basic model at half the cost of the larger and more complex electronic model. I prefer it this way as I don,t need useless blinking led, alarms, whistle, bells and AI fuzz logic tech junk nonsense...especially at twice the cost.Like many in desert southern California, I have awful allergy where I sneeze, tear, runny and annoys everyone around me.I had to take Claritin so I can save my nasal. Not anymore. Just make sure you don,t smell the flowers and please keep all the windows closed!I can now smell better and don,t wake up with dry mouth because my nasals were clogged and swollen.I have less problem sleeping now.ConsIt,s by no mean quite... I had hard time sleeping with the device on, even on quietest setting. To me, even On the lowest fan setting it sounds like revving jet getting ready to take off...'course not as loud (not even close) but it def sounds very very similar...to me.Also, the check filter button is kind of useless on my unit....After three months, I check the prefilter analog when the unit started to make odd noise. I found the filter was beyond capacity, fully covered in grey white dust....During this time, at no point I got a warning light, bell or whistle or a led light show from a check pre filter light button, not even when I set it or pressed it to check time to time..... no nothing. As long as you don,t need it on your sleeping hours, I you might give this air cleaner a chance.I just bought another one...the old Honeywell,s going into my garage.Update: 4/4/2014The filter sensor on my second unit failed also. It doesn't,t do a thing. My prefilter again was fully covered in white grey dust but nada from the clever sensor...It,s best to just visually check the back of the unit once a month to see the dust build up on your prefilter.update 5.01.2015the unit #1 s prefilter sensor finally lit up, after what seems like months of usage...so its not completely useess it seems. the other three units prefilter sensor still is not responding. i have four of these suckers. i change the filters before it gets that filthy i guess.i edited my review since atleast one of my four units sensor seems to somewhat work.

This is our second Honeywell AllergenPlus HEPA Tower Air Purifier, in 9 years.
I absolutely recommend this product. Here is why. Years ago, when we moved back home to our grand state of Texas, my dear wife kept getting sinus and then lung infections. In Florida, she had also had some issues with sinus infections, but not as bad. Since I bought the first one of these Honeywell AllergenPlus HEPA Tower Air Purifiers -- for small rooms, about 9 years ago, she has not had any problems. Maybe a bad allergy day, but never anything requiring a doctor's office visit. We run it on high -- it has 3 settings -- in the bedroom where we sleep. Not only does it clean the air, but it also serves as 'white noise' to cut down on any noises disturbing our sleep. It could also be used on a lower setting, or in an adjacent room, if you feel it is too loud. Remember, you are using this to clean the air -- not to be silent. We have taken with us on road trips, and used it in hotel rooms, or while visiting relatives. The last one is still running. We bought this one to keep at home, while the other one is at a relative's home we are spending time at (easier than taking one back and forth). It is easy to move it to another room in the house (where we are spending time) during the day, when we have a dust storm -- it helps immensely on the effects of the dust, and allergens. I do recommend that people with allergies get a HEPA filter unit to run on dusty days, and in the evenings when they sleep, or even for travel -- since you do not know what allergens are in the air where you stay. To prolong the life of the 'pre-filter', I vacuum the dust off of it and re-use it several times prior to replacement. These also have a "light" that lets you know when it is time to replace the HEPA unit -- the HEPA can't be cleaned, but last 6 months to a year (depending on dust and allegens).

Honeywell
I have bought two Honeywell air purifiers. I do not think you can buy a better product. I purchased this for my bedroom. It has made a great difference. This is for a small room.
