Python Clip - Stainless Steel - Gate Clip - Everyday Carry - Keychain Accessory

I love these little clips, have used them for almost a decade. Have them on all my kechains. I only wish Tec Accessories would make more affordable accessories such as these.

This is a really good mini carabiner. I had been using a split key ring with the spring loaded opening for several years to easily take my car keys off when I go for service. When that broke I bought several others that lasted only a month or so and could t find the same quality.I needed a better solution and found this mini carabiner. When I got it I was surprised by how well made it was but was worried how it would hold up, especially the spring loaded portion. While I only have a few weeks it seems totally solid and I am very happy with this.

I've been using these for a week now and they seem to hold up well. The wire used for the gate is thinner than other clips of this size (the entire clip is about the length of a US quarter), but the build quality seems good, and the shape of the gate looks like it will protect the wire from pull-outs.

I originally bought my first set of Python clips direct from the TEC accessories website back in mid 2014 and was extremely pleased with them. They were easily worthy of a 5-star rating. I use these clips in conjunction with a dangler clip to carry my keys (on a key smart), a small flashlight and a Leatherman squirt multi-tool. Recently I lost one of the clips and could not be more disappointed with its replacement. The original design of the Python clip was smooth from day 1, not a sharp edge on it, and had a great stonewash-esque finish that really resisted scratching. They were also very strong and never unintentionally released the item it was retaining. These newer python clips however, wow, where to begin? Basically they are the opposite in nearly every way! The new clips come out of the box with rough edges on them and finish is shiny and easily gouged and scratched. Also the new clip unintentionally let go of one of my items within the first week of use, so they clearly aren't as strong either. In the attached picture, the 3-year old original design is on the left, the new version (~2 months old) is on the right. Judge for yourself. I can't recommend them anymore.

way smaller then i expected, its about the size of your thumb. very well made, i wonder how well it will hold up.i was going to use it to clip tags on my big dog but it was, way way to small, so i used it on my chihuahuas caller which is small its and 11-14' and it fit. now i have to find one for my big dog. not sure what size would fit a 1' collar thickness d-ring.

I don't know if either the issue people had a year or two+ ago wasn't one for me and I simply didn't notice or if it was fixed in between their complaints and my purchase but it's been absolutely great. I've had it for right near 10 months and it's still like new. Key rings fit, the gate hasn't failed or wobbled. I use it for a belt loop pocket lanyard to dangle my Swiss Champ from so it doesn't go sideways down in my pocket but rather hangs vertically in comfort towards the outside of my leg. I haven't needed another one yet but I'll be repurchasing this when I do.Update: Year two, it's still as great as day one. I just ordered a few more for some other SAKs of mine. Photo of the second year, just recently changed the belt loop lanyard for what's pictured now.

Exactly the same quality as ones I bought ten years ago; I keep finding more and more purposes for these wonderful clips.
