buy OEM, great customer service for set up assist
It pays to buy OEM. I was able to program 1 of the 2 mini keychain remotes. Called LiftMaster customer service # on Amazon product support page and they walked me thru setting up the 2nd one.Happy with LiftMaster products.

Works Great If Instructions are Followed Exactly
How to Program the LiftMaster 890MAX 3-Button Garage Door Opener Mini Remote Control in 6Easy StepsTo program the LiftMaster 890MAX mini remote, you will first need to locate the Learn button on your garage door opener and the program button on the remote control. You must also check to make sure that the opener has a working light bulb since the bulb blinks to indicate that the remote has been paired with the garage door opener.1) Press the Program button with a safety pin or paper clip until the LED on the front of the remote control turns on. This will place the remote in programming mode.2) Press and release the Learn button (will be a square green, red/orange or purple button or a yellow circular button) on the garage door opener. The Learn LED will light within 30 seconds.3) Press (once if Yellow Learn Button, twice if Purple Learn Button, 3 times if Red/Orange Learn Button or 4 times if Green Learn Button) and release one of the 3 the remote control buttons you want to use/program.4) Wait for the remote control LED to light solid then slowly press and release the remote control button again. Repeat until the garage door opener light bulb blinks. DO NOT press the button after the light bulb blinks.5) To exit programming mode, press any remote control button except the button that was just programmed.6) To test, press the programmed button on the remote control. The garage door opener, gate, or MyQ light accessory should now activate.

Nice Small Remote.
Nice little remote control. Came as a set of two. One of them worked and the other did not. I contacted the seller (365 Garage Door Parts) via telephone, the day I received the remote in the mail. They never returned the call. Sent them an email and explained that the batter in one of the remotes was bad/dead the day I received it. Their response was, "We are sorry to hear that the battery was at its end life cycle. The remotes are new and prepackaged from the manufacturer. We will advise the manufacturer of your the feedback". Needless to say, since they did not offer to replace the remote control or fix the problem (a new battery would have been fine) (I know, it's the principle not the cost of the battery), I returned the remotes to Amazon for a refund this morning. Will order again from a different seller (even if it cost a little more). FYI, The working remote programmed very easy to my Craftsman Model K1026, 139.53779 and worked VERY well. The 890 MAX mini remote is about the same size as my F-150 remote and works as good or better than the one that came with the opener.

Perfect for on my Keychain!
These work very well for my pair of Liftmaster 84505Rs. Have to park outside and now I don't have to worry about leaving an opener in my vehicle.

Good remote but bad for older remotes and old garage motherboard
Jan 2017 I had purchased 2 LiftMaster 890MAX mini openers and they are still working great with my 20 year old LiftMaster Professional 1/2 HP that was manufactured Nov 2003. I wanted to have a few more extra 890Max remotes on hand.Pairing the new ones had extra steps and it finally worked after several attempts. The YouTube video was also helpful. The 2017 remotes were easier to pair, press remote button and then the learn button and they were paired.Every time I would pair the new 2025 890Max remotes it would deactivate all my older remotes. I re-activated the older remotes and it deactivated the new remote. Frustrated I called LiftMaster support and they said sometime this happens and it is due to my garage opener has an older motherboard and that would need to be change. Not happening and unfortunately returned the new remotes. Great remote if you have updated motherboard and not having older remotes in addition to the newer one. Also in the description of this product it does say it is compatible with LiftMaster garage door openers starting Jan 1993 which is not true for my unit was manufactured Nov 2003. Maybe this was true when I purchased the older 890Max mini remotes in Jan 2017 with easier pairing steps which are the same steps as on the back of my LiftMaster garage door opener.I recommend trying these remotes but it you have same issues as I did then you know why or contact LiftMaster support in case of another issue.

These easily replaced both a lost and a broken garage door opener and are much better than either
We were concerned after recently moving into a new home and finding one of the garage door openers broken and the other soon misplaced. Fortunately, these are a completely-compatible and much improved replacement for the original openers.Specifically, they have the same range (at least 100 feet), are easy to program - press a button on the opener motor and then press a button on the opener within 30 seconds the specified number of times, depending on the model of the motor. They are also tiny, compared to the originals, running on 2532 Lithium coin batteries, rather than on hard-to-find 12 volt batteries, and can be easily added to a keyring.Ours have worked well for five months thus far on the original batteries, and seem likely to last several more months.Highly recommended!

works great
my husband and I have these on our key ring now. We were having an extremely difficult time programming our 3 cars into our auto open garage door even though we had them parked a block away! we finally gave up and programmed one auto and bought these for the key chains on the other 2 autos. I took the advice of a previous reviewer and chose the last slot to open with to prevent accidental openings on the fob.
