No Included AUDIO & difficulty level is easy
Unlike other Hal Leonard books, this has no included audio demo or accompaniment. Not sure why they didn't do even a downloadable audio included. Also the tunes are made very easy more on beginner level. If you're intermediate to advanced this will juat be too boring unless you use it to improv passing notes, embellishments etc. This is why I gave it 3 stars.

Hmmm.. About 35 songs you should play on Cello, and 15 others...
a WIDE range of tunes, many that have an iconic cello part - but NOT when the Cello is the ONLY instrument! Wish there were accompaniments included or made available via download...

Not a must Have collection
I would not call this a must have collection of songs. I'm new to playing the cello but even still, I'm not particularly amused. I noticed that there are some pieces that I had before buying this book, the notes are different in this book. Some of the pieces also do not have very flattering compositions. In honesty though, I still look at it sometimes when I'm not working on anything particular and just want to practice for a bit.

Poor arrangements
I have several other Hal Leonard books, and usually they're quite good. Even of the songs I would normally enjoy playing, which turned out to be very few, they were poorly notated, over-simplified, and without any attempt at an arrangement. For me maybe the first 10 songs rather than first 50 I'd want to play on cello. Beatles songs, while orchestrated well by George Martin, rarely translate well to pleasant solo melodies.

Not the music I was looking for.
The book itself is very professional, but the sheet music is certainly not for beginners, which is what I was looking for. I took piano lessons as a child, so I can read music, but the songs in the book are way too complicated- like with four flats or four sharps in the songs. I will have to search further for a beginners book. Eleanor Vaughn
