I want it factor
This is the second book by this author on cars that I have purchased. In the first book he talks about the magical factor which makes you plump for a certain car - "I want it". It's intangible, special and irresistible. Lightning can't strike twice then - or can it? Yes it can! After reading this, I think a Boxster is the entry to the world of Porsche for me. The book never gets too far into boring specification, steering as sharply as a classic German sportscar should from key information about ownership into tales of the owner's life made better by the Boxster. It's a great read for an enthusiast and a novice as far as I'm concerned and really well-balanced.I want it (the Boxster, that is). And it's my birthday this week so here's hoping.

Really useful book
Great book if you are thinking of buying a Boxster or a Cayman. Really interesting history of Porsche and the Boxster, personal stories from the author, buying tips for each type of car and instructions for carrying out small jobs yourself. What’s not to love?!

Great read for anyone looking to purchase their first dream car!
What a great read! If you love Porsche cars you’ll love this book! Robert McGowan obviously knows and loves the Porsche brand.I sat and read this book out in my summerhouse as the rain was lashing down outside and it sent me into my own little dreamland of cruising around in a boxster of my own up and down some sun drenched country lanes.Sadly I’m also from Scotland so we never get enough of those sort of days! If only! It’s a very informative read if you love anything Porsche with a little of his back ground of growing up in Glasgow sprinkled with the right amount of lighthearted wit. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The difficult second album
I enjoyed 911 the practically free supercar- so I bought this to learn a bit more about the 987. The structure is poor- jumping from one subject to another- without any obvious reason- I'm mainly relating to the sudden jump to Robert waxing lyrical about a spin in his 987- ironic considering in 911TPFS he started it didn't feel special- and I would also add a boxster is never going to be practically free- his 911 was free as he got lucky from a huge surge in the classic market cause by low interest rates and the use of classic cars as investments by people not interested in driving them. In summary, its only an average read and the title is misleading. I expected a step up for a second title.
